The Dante always offers up brilliant horses in top class races, but be warned, there is a bit of a track bias and low numbers are generally what you want…
The Dante Festival is tomorrow, here is our latest going update from Anthea Leigh, our Raceday Manager & Clerk of the Course ⛅️

Well, it’s KALPANA at 12/1 following her win on British Champions Day last year.
Happy Birthday to Andrew Balding 🎂

Juddmonte won the race last year with a filly, and it looks like they will try to do the same with this improving four-year-old.
Connections had pencilled in the Middleton Stakes at York this week for her return, but she was ruled out of the race yesterday due to a dirty scope. Barry Mahon, European manager of Juddmonte, said: “Andrew just wasn’t happy with her scope this morning and there was a little bit of mucus there. The vet said he would like to treat her for a couple of days so we couldn’t declare her for York.
“It’s unfortunate but it is nothing sinister and hopefully we will get her back in a couple of weeks.”
So, the setback isn’t serious, and Mahon has already highlighted a potential race for her comeback.
He continued: “We could look towards the Curragh for the Tattersalls Gold Cup and if the treatment clears her up and Andrew is happy with her I would say that would look the most obvious next target. After that you are rolling into Epsom (for the Coronation Cup).”
“They didn’t think it is anything overly sinister and she probably just needs a few days of antibiotics and should be OK. Hopefully that could still leave her on track for the Tattersalls Gold Cup all being well.”
She really is a filly with plenty of class. We like her a lot, and let’s hope she can continue her climb up the ranks.
