Equinties - will he or won't he?

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

If you looked at todays racing and thought the same as us,

don't worry… York starts tomorrow and we’re going to be going through every big race, highlight all of the days most bullish stats and serve up some fast ground bets.

Lets dive in.

BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP

We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.

People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.

If we hit 100 stables today, top of the BGP private league comes golfing with BGP Capital - we’ll run the comp until someone wins!

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

OUT FOR THE SEASON

The news about DESERT CROWN’s future was as sad as it was boring to hear over the weekend, but he is not the only one on box rest as news for two other prominent horses was revealed yesterday.

The first of which was Karl Burke’s MARSHMAN who will miss the rest of the season due to a pelvic injury sustained after a tune-up breeze last week.

The three-year-old by HARRY ANGEL had failed to win a race since his Group 3 Prix Sigy victory in April this year, so a big break and potential growth/improvement could see him in a better position to get his career back on track.

The other horse who is out but will hopefully return in 2024 is GOLDEN RULES, the Northumberland Plate second who was slammed into favouritism no doubt after this interview:

Having been prominent in the betting for Saturday’s Ebor Handicap at York, the six-year-old by GOLDEN HORN was taken out of the feature race as he “wasn’t quite right”.

SWEET ON HIS CHANCES

Speaking of the Ebor, ante-post favourite, SWEET WILLIAM, is guaranteed to get a run if connections send him to the contest.

39 horses were confirmed for the £500,000 contest on Saturday, and with a maximum field of 22 available to run, the four-year-old by SEA THE STARS is number 17 on the list – SARATOGA GOLD is number 22 with BERKSHIRE ROCCO one who, as things stand, will miss out.

Officially, the John & Thady Gosden-trained runner is rated 103 by the handicapper, but because of the early-closing nature of the race, he receives a four-pound penalty for his Goodwood success and is officially four pounds well-in.

That said, based on her previous comments from her Goodwood interview, mega-GILF and owner Philippa Cooper isn't quite 100% on the race:

MORE BOOMS FOR TC

Finally, yesterday evening gave UK racing fans a victory to enjoy as veteran BOOM THE GROOM, on his 109th career start, won at Lingfield for the 11th time.

Trained by Tony Carroll and once rated as high as 107 back in 2017, the experienced sprinter put his Brighton mishap behind him 10 days ago and stormed to success off 54 under Neil Callan.

Just goes to show, don't discount the old boys.
