Equinties - the weekender

Gm Equinauts

No newsletter yesterday due to some technical fault, we’re back today.

This newsletter has posted one bet a day since Saturday and none have win - you might call that a bear run and the string of L’s can test your mettle but the importance of staying up when betting horses long term is to bet few but with conviction. Some people might have 5 bets in a day to chase the W, that’s wrong.

Temptation to chase the W might be even greater today what with some great racing on, especially Cheltenham, but an easy way to cage the betting chimp and WAIT for the good bets is to use the TOTE Fantasy.

Have an interest in every race but without the financial liability and still be in with a chance to win the lottery pot:

Let’s dive in.

Don’t forget: After giving away the Vegas trip last weekend, don’t miss our next prize - a £500 John Lewis gift voucher to help with your Christmas shopping.

HEADLINE ROUND UP

LACEY PAYS THE PIPER

Tom Lacey reached into his pocket and found £205,000 to spend at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale yesterday as he secured top lot PIPER PARK.

The Walk In The Park 4yo won her PtP by two lengths, though she did hamper the second, WEDNESDAY ADDAMS, who went on to win by a neck in her next PtP.

The Friday night sale included nine six-figure lots, four less than the same sale 12 months ago, and the second top lot went the way of Ryan Mahon and Dan Skelton to secure HONKY TONK HIGHWAY. She is by MILAN and is out of the PRESENTING mare ST GREGORY, a cross which has produced a few good ones in BEAT THAT (Grade 1-winning novice hurdler), MONBEG NOTORIOUS (Grade 2-winning novice chaser), and ROARING BULL (Paddy Power Chase winner).

MORE TROPHIES

“The best feeling ever!” -  That is how Sir Alex Ferguson described winning the Bahrain International Trophy with SPIRIT DANCER, Richard Fahey’s FRANKEL six-year-old gelding who has improved 17 pounds since the start of the season.

The homebred travelled like a dream into the race under Oisin Orr and delivered a late charge to the line to beat ISRAR by two-and-a-quarter lengths, with POINT LONSDALE back in third.

In what has been a tough time for Sir Alex over the last few months, he was over the moon after the race, as he said: "That's the best ever in racing, without question. He won well, too, very well. It was Ged [Mason, co-owner] who jumped on me, 100 yards away he looked as though he was going to win, but I'm not counting my chickens at that point, I’m just praying. He carried me over the line with him."

Congratulations to all connections, what a win!
