It’s Saturday. LFG!

First on the agenda, chimp management. There a lot of good horses in display today but you don’t need to bet them all.

Play the TOTE FANTASY to maintain an interest in the big races, get that dopamine fix, all without the financial liability.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

GOSDEN SPIES NEXT TARGET FOR INSPIRAL

Following her successful Group 1 Jacques le Marois defence last month, INSPIRAL is set to head to the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at the start of October before potentially a trip to the Breeders’ Cup.

The four-year-old is set to be rested throughout September by John & Thady Gosden after three runs this season, but will be brought back for the Newmarket Group 1 on October 7th won last year by FONTEYN.

Following that, all things being well, she will head to the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Santa Anita before her potential retirement to stud. One last hurrah for her and Frankie it seems…

Cheveley Park’s Chris Richardson said: “If she is going to retire, I can see her going to America and retiring, but if she was to stay in training then I don’t know. Maybe she will make the Breeders’ Cup, but it would depend on what Mrs Thompson would like to do.”

GOOD FOR THE SOUL

Another filly who will be going on a break is Oaks winner SOUL SISTER who will be rested for the remainder of her three-year-old campaign before being brought back next year.

The FRANKEL filly was last seen in France in July when third to FEED THE FLAME in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris, but following some time at home, she will not be seen again until next year.

Charlie Gordon-Watson, racing manager to owner-breeder Lady Bamford, said: It’s only a temporary thing and precautionary and as we wanted to have her for next year, it was the prudent thing to do. She will be better next year and she’s going to be stronger.”

 NATURE STRIP RETIRED

And finally, the 2022 King’s Stand winner NATURE STRIP has been retired.

The nine-year-old gelding hasn’t been at her best this season since his three Group-level victories in 2022, so connections have decided to retire him after 44 outings on the track, 22 wins and $20m AUD in prize money!

Happy retirement, NATURE STRIP!

That’s the news done. Let dive into the big race previews… we’re feeling bullish today.
