Equinties - strength of Hong Kong (Dollar)
Gm Equinauts
Sterling took a big dive this morning. And no, although plausible, I’m not talking about Raheem. I’m talking about our currency. Some very bearish figures relating to the UK’s current economic trends were released earlier which has caused the Pound to sell off… in a massive way too. Basically, the Pound is fucked. Check this GBP USD chart out.
Why am I highlighting this? For one key reason – BGP Capital. Think about it, the Bank Of England hiked interest rates yesterday whilst announcing we’re heading into a technical recession. Global markets naturally move to the safety of the Dollar (it’s an easy trade) and there is absolutely nothing to suggest the Pound is going to recover any time soon.
This market move creates a massive discount for overseas buyers of British bloodstock. The big players in the US and Hong Kong (the Hong Kong Dollar is pegged to the US Dollar) now suddenly have a lot more money to play with over here and they’re just going to fill their boots. Yes, it may temporarily inflate the higher end of the Yearling sales next month but long term, there is a massive opportunity to take advantage of the Dollar appreciation and sell the horses into Hong Kong.
Buy low in the UK, sell high in Hong Kong -that’s where the money is going to be made. As well as landing some big old gambles along the way.

Headline Roundup
Top mares go to market
Paddy Twomey’s LA PETITE COCO is set to join ALCOHOL FREE and SAFFRON BEACH in the sales ring later this year as the four-year-old will be offered during the Tattersalls December Mares Sale as owners target the strength of the markets.
A Group 3, Group 2, and most recently Group 1 winner, this daughter of RULER OF THE WORLD was last seen finishing fourth in the Gr2 Blandford Stakes at the Curragh 12 days ago – she has earnt a total of £368,688 across 10 races for her connections.

This will be a big loss for Twomey’s team, both quality-wise and emotionally, as the trainer said: “La Petite Coco will always be special to me and the team at Athassel House as our first Group 1 winner – she is a good-looking filly with a wonderful temperament and a huge pedigree, and she tries her heart out every time she runs.”

Exciting times for Juddmonte
NOSTRUM, a two-year-old colt by KINGMAN, made it a perfect two from two yesterday as he stormed to success in the Gr3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket, Chesham Stakes victor (and yesterday’s bet) HOLLOWAY BOY… scarily comfortably too.
🚀 NOSTRUM (GB) makes it two out of two, winning Gr.3 @Tattersalls1766 Stakes at @NewmarketRace for Sir Michael Stoute and owner-breeder @JuddmonteFarms.
The colt is by Juddmonte's very own stallion KINGMAN (GB). He could have a very bright future! 🌟

The success gives Juddmonte another potential superstar to look forward to, adding to the list of current high profile 2yo horses such as CHALDEAN, JULIET SIERRA, and CHASSERAL, while not forgetting the depth of their 3yo’s including the likes of WESTOVER, HASKOY, TIME LOCK, and the exciting LAUREL. Juddmonte are sitting quite pretty at the moment. As is sire KINGMAN.
NOSTRUM and NOBLE STYLE look like two very nice 2yo’s for KINGMAN.

Bookmakers reacted immediately to NOSTRUM’S dominant performance, slashing his price to 4/1 (from 20/1) and 8/1 (from 14/1) for the Dewhurst and 2000 Guineas respectively.
Trainer Sir Michael Stoute is still undecided as to where his colt out of MIRROR LAKE, a two-time Listed winner at 1m2f, will go next, whereas HOLLOWAY BOY’s trainer, Karl Burke, suggested a stab at the Vertem Trophy or the Breeders’ Cup for his ULYSSES colt.

Plot King at it again
The glorious sport of horse racing was treated to a beautiful sight yesterday; a filthy Sir Mark Prescott gamble in a Class 6 0-60 at Southwell.
GOLDEN SHOT was as big as 2/1 in the morning of the race and his previous form read 8-11-9-10, but this son of GOLDEN HORN was backed into as short as 4/5 before the off and won doing handstands under strong restraint from Thor Hammer Hansen.
GOLDEN SHOT (Golden Horn x Quenelle) lands a double on the day for the Heath House team when winning the 1m6f Duralock International Handicap readily under @ThoreHammer at @Southwell_Races
Congratulations to his owners W E Sturt - Osborne House

Out of a NAYEF mare, the three-year-old won off a mark of 56 yesterday – who knows how much the handicapper will whack him after that, though we can assume he won’t hold back.
If you don’t like SMP’s plot jobs, you don’t like racing.

Chelmsford went hospo only… lol
What happens when you’re struggling to get people racing? Sack it off altogether. That’s basically what Chelmsford did last night as they took the decision to not sell general admission tickets and go hospo only. WHO TF WANTS HOSPO AT CHELMSFORD!?
Disgrace… this is not how you treat fans of the sport.

Tbf to the Essex course, I think one of the reasons why they did this was because the meeting was organized quite late and obviously lacked the organizational capacity to be able to do it properly. All in all, it sounded like a proper shit show and Racing Twitter did not hold back.
Risk on
15.00 RAGE OF BAMBY
I can’t see OLIVIA MARALDA out the top two but Eve’s lot like theirs. BGP 1 on at 8’s mid-week, 6’s available. Full bet ew at 6’s.
19.00 HANNIBAL BARCA
A combination of things could account for his poor run in the Irish Derby (bounce, trip and simply outclassed) but back in trip now and down in class could see him pay a big part in this race. Weight difference the only negative but he's a big horse and can cope with it. Half bet ew at 7/1.
19.45 COOL LIGHTNING
Tate’s found a weak-ass race for this girl to make her debut and vibes from camp bullish. Full bet at 15/8.
