Equinties - stars are born

Yesterday was a weird day for the 1.01's.

The above is just unfortunate, but this thing...

He should have won this by 10 length. Horrible horse.

Anyway, let's dive in.

Headline round up

THAT unseat

In case you somehow missed this, yesterday, Sean Quinlan was unshipped from his mount TELHIMLISTEN, the 2/9 favourite, 20 yards after the final fence at Sedgefield having traded as low as 1.01 AND PUT RACING TWITTER INTO A FUCKING FRENZY. AGAIN.

Look we all know Quinlan didn't throw himself off but it's fucking funny to throw a bit of bait around and get Racing Twitter riled up. The usual suspects joined in on the wind up too...

So how did the fall actually happen? It's difficult to see on video, even the head on isn't that clear but there was obviously an uneven distribution of weight outside the horse and , well, down Sean went.

Sean addressed the incident and I can Imagine he's fairly embarrassed, poor bloke. I even feel sorry for Adam the owner. Known for his gambles, this (pretty much) once in a lifetime incident obviously had to happen to him and I can imagine he received a lot of shit after the race.

Stars are born

Foaling season has been great to watch this year (and BGP is patiently waiting for our little one to drop too).

The racing world has been made a better place all of a sudden with the arrival of some potential future stars. ENABALE’s second foal by DUBAWI was born.

Mullins' super mare QUEVEGA dropped on too...

And now, contrary to what some idiots on Racing Twitter would have you believe (Olly Murphys bumper winner the other day is NOT a half to CONSTITUTION HILL),

CONSTITUTION HILL is now a big brother!

That’s right, Dash Grange Stud announced yesterday that a full sister to the Champion Hurdle winner had been born just nine days after CONSTITUTION HILL’s stunning win at the Cheltenham Festival.

By BLUE BRESIL out of QUEEN OF THE STAGE (a mare who earnt black type with the Nick Williams stable), she was less than an hour old when pictured and is set to be watched carefully ahead of her debut on the track.

Sticking with breeding, first-season sire MAGNA GRECIA collected a debut victory from his first runner yesterday as MYCONIAN won at Saint-Cloud.

The ex-Aidan O’Brien entire won the Group 1 Vertem Futurity in October 2018 before going on to win the 2000 Guineas first time out for Coolmore in 2019 and now his progeny has hit the track in good shape – could he be a first-season sire to watch this year?

Appeal lodged

And finally, connections of DASHEL DRASHER have formerly filed an appeal against the decision to demote their horse to third from second in last week’s Stayers’ Hurdle.

The stewards deemed that Jeremy Scott’s 10-year-old gelding had severely weaved across the track enough to impede Gordon Elliott’s TEAHUPOO and they reversed the placings of the two horses who could only be separated by a nose at the finish.

What do you think of the original decision? Fair or not?

Well, unless my NAP TEAHUPOO miraculously bags his much deserved 1st place in the appeal process, I couldn't give af.

So, who is our new sponsor?

UK Meds is an online clinic where you can get medications delivered to your door. Handy if you can’t be arsed to have those awkward convos with your doctor face to face!

UK Meds has just won the distribution rights to MYRKL and you are the first to hear about it!

Myrkl is a miracle pill that makes you feel fresh the next day, after the fun of the night before.

I'm serious. It works and that's the only reason they're sponsoring the newsletter. I swear by it so much, I reached out to UK Meds asking if I could work with them - and here we are now, plugging it to you.

Bumper preview

Hereford

Incredibly tough bumper today with Baileys lto winner heading the market, short at 5/4. Bailey finally coming into a bit of form too and we've had our money from HEROS DE ROMAY already... he was the pick in his respective bumper preview. Taking him on today as I don't think the track will suit this big, slow galloper.

TD's SPIRITS BAY is next in market...he's won a bumper already too. Nothing wrong with him but does carry a pen.

Olly Murphy's horse is interesting but he was fucking mad last time...like, literally out of control. They've got a hood on him for today and if that helps him settle then he could be a huge player today. Big IF though.

Fergals' is a player too - yard are good in bumpers.

Summary: Not sure and I'll just be watching this one but given Olly Murphy's DAMARTA was so well backed last time, I'm gonna hang my hat on him. Disclaimer: don't be suprised if jumps a fence, runs out and ends up at the owners and trainers bar...he's mad.

Risk On

Been told to back THE NAVIGATOR in the 15.30.
