Leger day, baby.

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

POWERFUL FILLY

Betting markets can be a funny place. In our game, it’s hard not to look at them very closely and think they are portraying a pretty solid, more, likely story.

Or does it?

Enter REVIVAL POWER. She’s exceptionally well bred and has always shown Tim Easterby plenty at home. She knows how to gallop and does so very quickly, yet, she went off 22/1 on debut (win), 33/1 for the Queen Mary (11th, we backed), 12/1 for the Alice Keppel (2nd), 13/2 for the Julia Graves Roses Stakes (won, we backed), and a friendless 17/2 for yesterday’s Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes!

Sometimes the market does like giving them away.

Price doesn’t always mean everything, and that showed yesterday, as the full sister to WINTER POWER absolutely bolted up at Donny. It was over from the moment the gates opened.

She is super speedy, and she seems to be a bit more relaxed than her older brother, which is a nice trait to have. With all her class, Easterby has a decision to make, but he is in no rush to decide on a future race. He said: "She could gallop from the word go. She's just a natural runner and she's got that bit of kick.

"She'll improve again at three. She's one of those fantastic horses to train, you're lucky to get one like this.

"We've trained her very much like Winter Power but really calm, doing nothing out of the ordinary, not doing any fancy gallops. That wouldn't do her any good. This is where you want to gallop them, on the track.

"I'm very excited. It's great when you get one like that, they're not difficult to train when they're like that. She's very good."

Some people have suggested the Prix de l’Abbaye for her, and while that could be a race to suit, she has had five races already this season. Easterby may think she will train on, but that is no guarantee, and just look at what has happened to LADY IMAN! They went to the Nunthorpe, and she doesn’t look the same horse.

It may be worth taking the foot off the gas and campaigning her like a good sprinter next season.
