I’m quite sure you’ll be able to register your interest in BGP Capital today.
What tf is BGP Capital?
First and foremost, it’s a community of members who each have real skin in the game, working together for the same outcome - profit.
BGP Capital will break down barriers for the every day person.
Can’t afford traditional ownership? Now you can.
Want to learn more about the intricacies of getting a horse to a race track and setting up a win? Well, you won’t just to learn, you’ll be a part of it.
Ever wondered what you’re missing out on by not being in a gambling ‘circle’ and the first to be in the know? The door is open now - Owners privilege. It’s time for other people to be wanting in YOUR circle.
Feeling disillusioned with the sport and think only the bookies win in racing? Only 2% win and most have heavy interest in the game. Through our purchasing power, this is your chance to take control. Build the odds in your favour.
Simply put, everyone has the option to buy into what is effectively an investment opportunity. Members’ investment will be pooled into a ‘fund’ and the fund will be used to buy young bloodstock. Relative to your notional investment, members will be portioned a % of equity across all the assets (horses acquired).
The aim of the fund is to buy low, sell high - all horses will be sold, and returns will be divided out between members. For the horses that we can’t make a profit on, they will be set up for gambles. Only higher tiered members will have access to this information.
The club will of course have other benefits including, but not limited to a community hub, gambling chat on Discord, chimp management and mentoring and event days such as racing, golf and annual dinners.
What tier should you buy?
For those not caring for anything other than the potential pinhook returns, buy the lower tier. Lowest tier has the smallest upfront notional and lowest monthly management costs but provides no extras bar your equity and access to the community hub (every member does) for investment updates
For those looking to explore deeper in the world of racing and join some exclusive circles, you want to buy into the middle tier. Middle tier gives you everything the basic tier does but also provides access to the gambling Discord where members will be in the know before anyone else.
The highest level tier offers the highest % of equity whilst acting as consultancy service for those wanting to be both an owner and a profitable gambler - the 2%. The membership includes everything in basic and middle tier plus the experience of exclusive ownership. You’ll be first in line for race day badges and owner a share in any prize money. Direct access to BGP will be available for betting and chimp management mentoring sessions held both online and in practice on track. You’ll also be expected to help provide liquidity for gambles. Critical information will come to you first.
More info will be available later today.
Now, let’s dive in.
SUPER SUNDAY REVIEW
We gave you my full length yesterday to celebrate Super Sunday (which took a lot of fluffing behind the scenes!) and thankfully, it paid off as five of our 9 previewed races delivered winners. Boom.
It’s Monday and that means it’s the weekend review – this time, the BGP Capital Awards are back.
Best Performance
There were plenty of performances from the weekend that could have won this (don’t worry, we will get to them) but TAHIYRA’s victory in the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes has to top them all.
🚀 This is a very good filly
Tahiyra is simply awesome in the G1 @MoyglareStud Stakes, powering clear in stunning fashion to remain unbeaten for Dermot Weld & @chrishayes24@curraghrace@IrishChampsWknd#LICW22

Providing Dermot Weld with just his 18th success in 2022, Chris Hayes delivered the SIYOUNI filly perfectly to quicken-up well and beat Aidan O’Brien’s well-fancied MEDITATE into second.
If you look away from MEDITATE, the bare form of the race might not turn out to be anything groundbreaking as the season progresses, but the style of her victory forced some bookmakers to go 4/1 about her for the 1000 Guineas already.
A half-sister to the now retired TARNAWA, jockey Hayes was surprised as to how easily she picked up yesterday – she looks to be a special one for connections:
🗣 "We thought she was up to it. I was shocked at the ease in which she was doing it."

Race of the day
Swooping over to Doncaster now and two juveniles had a ding-dong battle in the Gr2 Flying Childers Stakes, a race which saw Richard Hannon’s TRILLIUM chin THE PLATINUM QUEEN on the line.

The duo of exciting two-year-olds took off at the one-furlong pole and left the rest of the field well behind – CRISPY CAT finished third, a full four and a half lengths behind in a five-furlong race. Insane!
Similar to her run in the Nunthorpe, Richard Fahey’s COTAI GLORY filly was a bit green and hung out to her left, allowing TRILLIUM to pick her way through the pack and get up on the post.
The Gr1 Prix de l’Abbaye on Arc weekend seems to be the next target for yesterday’s runner-up, as Tom Palin from Middleham Park Racing said: "The Abbaye is something we'll look at if it's not too soft - she's coped with the ground today, but it does just blunt her speed.
"On faster ground, she'd have been further in front and whether Trillium would have picked her up I don't know, but she'd have had a bigger margin to make up."
Major upset
In one of the biggest shocks we have seen on the track for a while, Alan King’s TRUESHAN, at odds of 2/9, was turned over by BGP Grad COLTRANE in the Gr2 Doncaster Cup.
YOU ARE FUCKING SHITTING ME.

Yes, on good to soft ground, star-stayer TRUESHAN was swept aside by Andrew Balding’s improving MASTERCRAFTSMAN gelding – the winning margin was only a neck, but it was visible from a long way out that TRUESHAN was in trouble.

The simple question is: was this a fluke or have we seen something go horribly wrong to TRUESHAN?
One theory behind this poor performance could be how he has come out of the Goodwood Cup – that was on good ground two starts ago, a surface Alan King has been saying for years that he doesn’t enjoy. Has he formed a bad mental image of racing now after that tough experience, or was yesterday just a blip?
We won’t know the true ins and outs until King updates us in the near future – as for the winner, he was gutsy on the outside and stuck to the task really well, showing off his great attitude.
That is most likely COLTRANE’s final run this season (good, he fucking deserves a break), though his big aim for next year is the Gold Cup at Ascot - TRUESHAN will either head to the Long Distance Cup in a month or he will draw stumps for the year.

The people’s champ
Arguably the best story of the weekend came at the Curragh in the Gr1 Flying Five, a race which saw John Quinn’s HIGHFIELD PRINCESS brilliantly secure her third Group 1 victory in as many races.

Rated as low as 58 nearly two years ago, this NIGHT OF THUNDER mare produced another five-star performance to bolt up by three lengths – this win takes John Quinn’s Irish record to 25%.
Assuming that she comes out of the race well, the Breeders’ Cup is the preferer target for HIGHFIELD PRINCESS and will not run in the Gr1 Prix de l’Abbaye:

A duo of St Legers
And finally, the English and Irish St Legers took place yesterday, both providing two widely different talking points.
The English version was on our screens first, a race won by Roger Varian’s ELDAR ELDAROV in a bunched finish.

The money came late on and it proved to be correct – this was a brilliant moment for connections, especially jockey David Egan who secured his first Classic.
Apart from that, however, the race lived up to the billing of a poor renewal – a 109-rated horse beat a 105-rated horse, with the 89-rated EL HAHEEB just four lengths behind the winner. Come on people, this is a stinking race.

On the contrary, over the Irish Sea, Aidan O’Brien’s KYPRIOS delivered on the Group 1 stage for the third consecutive time as he beat HAMISH by three-quarters of a length – these two broke clear from the rest, with SEARCH FOR A SONG seven lengths behind in third.

Now, this is a proper horse. Five from five this season over distances varying from 1m6f to 2m4f, as well as on ground that has varied between rattling quick and much softer, has secured this GALILEO four-year-old as the top staying flat horse currently in training (soz Strad).
Interestingly, the master of Ballydoyle did not rule out a potential trip to the Arc for his star horse – a race that he is currently 33/1 for:
🗣 "We have the option of going to the Arc with him."
