Equinties - sloppy Saturday at Newbury
Gm Equinauts
Last Saturday we cleaned up and landed winners in KINROSS, ECONOMICS and JOHAN at 18/1.
Well, Donny’s St Leger meeting was a piece of piss.
What a week. Thank you to all who continue to support the newsletter.

Let’s go again, let’s dive in.
HEADLINE ROUNDUP
BC PREP
He came. He saw (Southwell, God help him). He conquered (his stablemates).
It wasn’t the most exciting day of CITY OF TROY’s career yesterday, but it was arguably his most unique as the biggest horse in flat racing travelled over to the Nottinghamshire-based all-weather track for his pre-Breeders’ Cup Classic gallop over a mile.
City Of Troy's gallop in full!

All went to plan for the Juddmonte International winner, and although we all knew he would probably need the run as he has been on the easy list since York, Aidan O’Brien said what we saw from him was (in his opinion) “the best” he’s ever seen of him under Ryan Moore.
🗣️ Aidan O’Brien on today’s pre Breeders’ Cup Classic gallop:
“For me, watching him today, I thought that was the best I’ve ever seen him under Ryan [Moore].
“I loved the way he came up the straight and galloped away.
“He broke very relaxed, Ryan had his hands down on him in a… x.com/i/web/status/1…

That’s bold considering the horses Ballydoyle brought over to gallop with him weren’t in the same universe, let alone league, as him, but they were all there for a purpose.
CONGO RIVER (blue and red) was there to set an early pace, DEMOCRACY (blue and orange) was there to take over, MASTER OF THE HUNT (pink) was there to help him corner, and EDWARDIAN did naff all.
🗣️ “What’s your biggest danger here?!”
Pat Keating, travelling head lad for Aidan O’Brien, jokes with Ryan Moore ahead of the important City Of Troy gallop. 🤣

We should all get behind him because it would be a monumental achievement if he wins the Classic. After THAT Guineas, then the Derby, Coral-Eclipse, and Juddmonte International, to do Southwell onto Del Mar would be just brilliant. A season of a champion, if you will.
And as for those slinging lazy jokes on X over TROY’s prep at Southwell, don’t forget - he’s under the tutelage of Aidan O’Brien - so, are you laughing at Aidan O’Brien?
He’s always the one laughing.
