Well, Willie Mullins is going to hammer the final nail in the coffin containing Dan Skelton’s title bid dreams, no doubt followed by a tip of his trilby and a wry smile.

Dan has done bloody well this season, amassing over £3m, that’s a huge feat and has to be celebrated,

but he simply couldn’t match the huge firepower of the Irish battalion.

It was obvious, wasn’t it?

Roger Teal said he was following the CHARYN route, and that plan continued yesterday as he won the Group 2 bet365 Mile and laughed at our fears of the dreaded ‘bounce’ factor (which got him last season).

It was all a bit too easy for him and Roger Teal has his stable star.

There were a few contenders to consider yesterday, notably LEAD ARTIST who impressed last season, but DANCING GEMINI won yesterday’s feature well, and now it potentially sets up a nice race in the Lockinge.

But will he go?

Teal said: "I know a lot of those horses will improve for today but I'm just delighted to see him win like that. He nailed it. We need to try to get him a Group 1. I'd love to go for the Lockinge, but the Prix d'Ispahan remains an option. Nothing has been decided and we'll just do what's best for him.”

If he is truly following the CHARYN path, he’ll have to face some proper horses in the Lockinge, notably the horses he beat today and the likes of ROSALLION. The horses he’ll take on will be race-fit, and some of them will be genuine Grade 1 horses.

DANCING GEMINI is a lovely horse and deserves the test.
