HEADLINE ROUNDUP

FAIRY, FAIRY GOOD

The big performance of yesterday came from FAIRY GODMOTHER in the Group 3 Albany Stakes. She was very, very good.

On the way to success over six furlongs, she was stopped, stopped, stopped, switched, and then asked a serious question by Ryan Moore. And well, she certainly delivered.

Her performance jumped right to the top of this week’s top-class displays, and she has her conformation to thank for that as she has a fantastic arse on her. She really has a strong back-end which helped her change through the gears with apparent ease.

Where next? Well, the natural progression is the Moyglare Stud Stakes over seven to see if she is a Guineas filly.

On pedigree, by NIGHT OF THUNDER out of SIYOUNI mare would suggest that eight furlongs would be her maximum, but it is certainly achievable.

Aidan O’Brien said: "She’s an incredible filly. What she was doing at home – that’s why Sue [Magnier, owner] called her Fairy Godmother. The lads loved her at the sales. Everything she’s done has always been very different, her work has always been very special.”
