Equinties - Royal Ascot day 3

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

Welcome to day 3 the greatest flat show on earth and the sun is still shining down on the spectacle, so much so plenty of jockeys and connections have described this week’s ground at Royal Ascot as perfectly quick ground.

The worlds fastest horses are even faster!

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

STABLE CHANGE NOT WORKED

We think it’s fair to say that Yeguada Centurion have made a big mistake.

The owners of BLUE ROSE CEN and BIG ROCK have been handed a few big losses since the owners switched their horses from Christopher Head’s yard to Maurizio Guarnieri.

Just look at BLUE ROSE CEN and BIG ROCK last year, they were proper horses!

Since then, BIG ROCK has been beaten twice with an overall losing margin of 38 lengths and BLUE ROSE CEN failed to get near AUGUSTE RODIN in yesterday’s Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes.

No one knows whether there was a falling out between Head and the owners, but if there wasn’t, they probably aren’t happy with how things have started.

GOING

The famous Berkshire course was watered overnight to maintain the decent ground without making it rattling quick, though Ascot could receive some thunderstorms on the final day of the meeting.

Chris Stickels, clerk of the course, said: “There's a small risk – around a 20 per cent chance – of thunderstorms on Saturday but I don’t think there's any real risk before then, so we’ll see how that looks as we go through tomorrow.”
