We should have just had a big ‘one and done’ yesterday on the Balding horse who we were told to back and ended up winning easily,
11/10 into 8/11, CAVIAR HEIGHTS bolts up for Balding and the newsletter. No hedge needed!

but we tried to be clever and front run a gamble on a Mick Appleby horse which ended up being laid all day - yesterday wasn’t the day but the ride and finish position suggests we sniffed out a winner in waiting.
That’s gambling.
Lets dive in.

RECORD BREAKER
From the highs of his 1000th winner on Monday, Tom Marquand entered the history books again at Ripon on Tuesday as his mount, DOOM, became the joint-shortest-priced loser in British racing history at 1/25.

The William Haggas-trained three-year-old had yet to win in five starts for Somerville Lodge before yesterday’s outing, yet his second on seasonal reappearance and second to the eventual Oaks winner SOUL SISTER back in October saw him a long odds-on shot.
At the two-furlong pole, it looked as if business was usual for Marquand, however, a shake of the reins one furlong from home proved fruitless as KARMOLOGY, an unraced Karl Burke-trained three-year-old by GOLDEN HORN, swept by close to the line.
History is history but quite ironic given Marquand’s recent success… and he even managed a double on the day!
THE FUTURE LOOKS ROSIER FOR SCOTT
Second-season sire HAVANA GREY was described as a “freak stallion” by bloodstock agent Matt Coleman at the Somerville Yearling Sale yesterday after he secured a filly by the leading sire for 155,000gns for his client, playboy owner and thoroughly decent chap Charlie Rosier.
🙌 "It's nerve-wracking, you get the adrenalin. I'm desperate for a drink if I'm honest because I'm shaky as anything."
@CharlieRosier chuffed that his 155,000gns Havana Grey filly purchase from @WhitsburyManor will be joining the 'Rascal' team at @GScottracing. #TattsSomerville

Out of MINORIA, the dam of the Group 3-winning IT’S SHOWTIME BABY, the beautiful grey filly will be trained by George Scott having been top lot yesterday with a fellow HAVANA GREY yearling selling to Kia Joorabchian and Amo Racing for 140,000gns.
HAVANA GREY currently stands for just £18,500 at Whitsbury Manor Stud and in the two years of his horses hitting the track, the 2018 Flying Five winner already has a Group 1-winning colt in VANDEEK as well as the consistent SHOULDVEBEENARING and HOLGUIN.
We spoke to ‘Mr 'Top Lot’ aka Charlie Rosier this morning to congratulate him on his recent, exciting purchase who said “(the filly was) the best physical in the sale by a mile and by the sire of the moment Havana Grey. Breeder loved her so much he’s asked to stay in for a leg”
The Scott x Rosier trainer/owner combo are repped today by MOULIN BOOJ in the 14.50. Charlie is bullish the return to 5f will see his SIOUX NATION gelding well placed by Scott.
Good luck, Charlie!

The five-year-old has been away from the track ever since his 20-length Prix du Cadran victory in October following a nasty leg infection. Many have been wondering if he would make it back to the track at all, however, O’Brien is hopeful that we will see the four-time Group 1 winner on Sunday.
He said: “It looks like Kyprios is going to make it. We have another four days to go with him, but it does look like he’s going to get there which is great. It is going to be very interesting to get him back on the track and see what he can do”.

KYPRIOS is a general 10/3-shot for the race with stablemate EMILY DICKINSON the 5/2 favourite and last year’s runner-up, HAMISH, the 3/1 second-favourite.
YOUNG BLOOD
We picked a yak in this section yesterday, let’s hope for a more fruitful analysis of the pedigree’s today.
15.05 LINGFIELD
This market is dominated by LOVE BILLY BOY who was last seen finished third in the Yearling Stakes at York, a race Hannon has harvested previously. IN second was a smart HAVANA GREY for Middleham Park, they both bumped into an absolute rocket for Clive Cox (his tail pictured in this sh!t post below):
6’s into 7/2 newsletter BOOM as ZIGGY CONDORS shits in with absolutely nothing else in front him.

LOVE BILLY BOY is by INVINCIBLE ARMY who is yet to produce a really smart one but this lads form lto makes him certainly the one to beat.
Who can beat him?
Quinn’ MASTER OF MY FATE has been squeezed and is next in the market. By FOOTSTEOSINTHESAND, his dam side leaves too much to be desired making for very white pages. He didn’t beat much on debut but couldn’t have done it any easier.
PERSIAN BLUE is selling off for Shaggas. 6’s out to 10’s suggesting she’ll need the run. Well related though, by BLUE POINT and a half to TREASURE TROVE once rated 101. One to keep an eye on.
MEGANISSI is by MAGNA GRECIA out of an unraced mare. She posted a solid effort at Newbury lto finishing just in front of APEELING who was, at some point, well regarded by Baldings lot. Big fillies allowance today gives her a chance at a juicy price.
RAINYNITEINGEORGIA posted a very good debut effort behind Burkey’s breeze up rocket filly BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND but was very disappointing nto at Goodwood. She need’s a return to her debut efforts but the sell off 6’s out to 10’s is bearish.
The field need handicapping in our view.
Verdict: Hannon’s horse LOVE BILLY BOY would have been set up for his last run where his bumped into what was quite clearly two very decent prospects. That is by far the form to beat and we can see him getting back to winning ways. The main danger is MEGANISSI. This might be too tough to bet in.
