Equinties - Oisin waits

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

We were excited for the jumps to be back at Ludlow yesterday but we wish it had been abandoned now - would have saved us a stake on that bumper bet!

One meeting that has been abandoned however is Wincanton. That means we have to wait a little longer for Oisin Murphy’s highly anticipated debut over obstacles.

In what is a slightly ironic name, Murphy was going to partner Cian Collins’ LETS DO THIS. Collins and Murphy have a long-standing relationship from their pony racing days, so to see Murphy on a horse of his suggests it probably was a long-term plan. And it was backed over night like it was too!

We have absolutely no doubt that Oisin will be very, very good in the jumps sphere. The former champ jockey spent most of his ban in the saddle show jumping - we were at many shows he was competing in, namely Hickstead, and without stating the obvious, he’s a brilliant rider.

He’s calm, has gentle hands and see’s a beautiful stride. We think many of the current jump jockeys will (or should) be watching carefully, with note pads in hand.

Talking of jumps, if you like the jumps, then you’ll love these racing themed Christmas jumpers:

Let’s dive in.

You’ve all heard of Viagra. The one time, pump and dump pill. Lasts what - 30 minutes? Rubbish.

For the first time ever, Cialis is available without prescription. And boy it’s an absolute game changer.

Approved for medical use only in 2003, the French call it ‘le weekend’ because basically this thing lasts in your system for 3 day.

Boner’s on demand, for 3 three days!

Perfect for a weekend away when you know you’re going to need a little help.

Try it through UK MEDS, use discount code EQUINTIES10 and thank us later.

p.s none of this is medical advice but we’ve tried it…

HEADLINE ROUND UP

RETIRED

Two horses who have been so good to us BAY BRIDGE and MY PROSPERO will no longer be seen on the track.

Starting with the former, BAY BRIDGE will stand at Haras du Mesnil in France alongside DOCTOR DINO - the sire of STATE MAN and SHARJAH - and TELECASTER - the two-time Group 2 winner.

As for MY PROSPERO, he will head to stud according to William Haggas, however they are still looking for someone to take him on. He is a lovely, big brute of a horse who we have been a big fan of for a while. Let’s hope he can make a big impact at stud.

COTSWOLD FOR GINO

The Grade 2 Cotswold Chase on Cheltenham Trials Day is next on the agenda for Newbury’s Gold Cup winner DATSALIGHTGINO, trainer Jamie Snowden confirms.

Snowden’s 7yo was given an 11lb rise in the ratings after his £250,000 success on the weekend, forcing him away from handicaps and into Graded chases.

Despite the appeal of the Cotswold Chase, a late supplementation for £4,600 into a wide-open King George is also on the table, as Snowden said: "He's gone up 11lb to 159, so you're slightly forced into Graded races on the back of that and the Cotswold Chase is the most obvious option.

"It's something we've spoken about, but I suppose the concern is the Coral Gold Cup took place in December, whereas it's usually the end of November. The King George comes quite soon on the back of it and it will have been a hard race for him. We'll speak about it again but the obvious thing is the Cotswold Chase."

DATSALRIGHTGINO is a general 25/1-shot for the King George, with BRAVEMANSGAME and GERRI COLOMBE at the head of affairs at 11/4 and ALLAHO a 5/1-shot.

TWEETS OF THE DAY

TODAYS BEST STATS

No run from the old boy RAINBOW DREAMER yesterday. He has the W in him still but perhaps not at the mark he’s off now he’s getting on a bit.

KEEP ME STABLE is on a three timer for Linda Perratt who is clocking mileage to get to Southwell today. She lands more than 1 in 3 when travelling this far at 38%.

Kirbys strike rate of 8% is boosted to nearly 1 in 3 when he runs a horse again within 7 days of it’s last win. FIRCOMBE HALL won only Monday, races today in the 13.22.

YOUNG BLOOD

MARKET RASEN BUMPER

All boys in this.

Derham’s CASUAL OBSERVE heads the market here. He’s by PILLAR COLLAR, a sire we’ve not heard of, that said, PILLAR COLLAR is a half to COASTAL PATH and MARTALINE who both excel at producing bumper winners which makes this horse interesting. Other than that, his pedigree is very opaque. He was picked up for £55k and has been backed today but we find all of Derham’s are over bet atm.

DIAMOND KODA ran very well against our previous bumper winner TOUQUET. If' the race hasn’t left it’s mark and he runs to that level again, he’ll go very close.

BALLYVANGO is made his debut at Kempton in March in a very warm bumper which has produced good winners since. His recent run at Cheltenham on seasonal debut would have put him spot of for today. Pedigree is fine.

ABSOLUTE STEEL reps Lacey’s yard who can win bumpers. This lad is laden with stamina which will suit today’s test.

DARK MIX is by BLACK SAM BELLAMY who gets his fair share of bumper winners. Interestingly, this lad’s half bro MIXEDWAVE is favourite for the 14.15 today.

Verdict: Honestly, no idea. CASUAL OBSERVE could carry the right blood to win this but it would be a risky guess. Unusually, it’s a race to leave alone. No play.

RISK ON

No yield in the bumper yesterday despite trading heavy odds on all the way round. We preach about how horses need time to acclimatise when coming over from France, it seems that lad needs time too. Our bad.

Unfortunately, there are no standout bets today, Market Rasen looks hard but there will be some nice ones coming up.
