Equinties

Gm, Equinauts

It’s always worth entering our competitions even if you think they’re a load of fake sh*t.

Newsflash… they’re not. We actually sent someone to Vegas.

So well done to Andrew Harvey who won the free bet comp at the weekend. He won £200 (which he chose to spend over four Saturdays) and spent his first £50 wisely to be in big profit and now has another three more £50 free bets to play for the first three Saturdays in Jan!

Make sure you enter, because you NEVER know when it’s going to be you. We might even do another comp this week.

Now let’s dive in!

HEADLINE ROUND UP

SANDOWN REVIEW

We called Saturday a pretty bad days racing but that was only for the fact Christmas had truly and utterly spoiled us. Apart from getting fat, Christmas treated us to SIR GINO returns, LOSSIEMOUTH’s continued dominance and other main character protagonists like TEAHUPPO. It was a joy. So you’ll forgive us Tracey for not getting too excited about the one Listed mares race and the veterans!

We’re only joking. Sort of. We love any sort of racing and the Veterans races were nice to see the old boys and girls hack round. You never know where their last race will be.

Sandown kicked off with an absolute romp. We don’t imagine any of the books priced up 50 lengths in the lengths markets lmao:

Another victory to note was Tom Lacey’s NOCTE VOLATUS who was a serious winner of the Veteran’s Staying Chase. Unbelievably, he was the only horse running of a career high mark, yet he was still gambled and he delivered:

One race punters will want to forget was the mares listed hurdle. We so nearly bet JUBILEE ALPHA as we really thought she was a banker,

and thank goodness we didn’t. Check this out:

If we were that way inclined, we’d be wondering what big Paul is lining this mare up for but instead we’ll just doth our cap to that man Dan Skelton (again) and acknowledge the very reason we didn’t bet this race - after a quiet year, NURSE SUSAN is very much back!

NH PAUSED FOR NOW

The newsletters this week are going to be short and sweet for there really isn’t going to be much to talk about, nearly every single jumps meeting this week either has been or will undoubtedly will be called off this week owed to weather conditions. It’s the type of weather that will absolutely freeze your nuts off if you get caught short outside (on that note, another big shout out to all the yard hands who, like us this morning, were outside smashing up water troughs!).

Our racing needs can and will only be met by competitive and low grade all weather meetings for the next three days as Leicester’s Wednesday jumps has just been abandoned. Taunton are hoping for a good thaw Thursday though. The track clerk of the course Robert Bellamy is hopeful to race should the forecasts be accurate.

We’re a little disappointed the BHA haven’t organised some emergency jumps bumpers to be quite honest with you. They’re good fun and a whole let easier to predict and bet compared to a card of class 6 yokes at Southwell.

WEEKEND EYE-CATCHERS

GABBYS CROSS - SANDOWN 15.05 SANDOWN

Nick Scholfied’s horses are always ones to consider this season(he’ll want the best start possible to his training career). This lad absolutely flew home up the Sandown hill behind the aforementioned NOCTUS VOLATUS and is one to keep on side.
