Equinties - Where next for Auguste?
Gm Equinauts
A ‘one off’ says the Master of Ballydoyle. The delighted Aiden O’brien obviously can’t wait for the flat season next year as his 5 time Group 1 winning AUGUSTE RODIN stays in training and has the capacity to plunder more glories aboard.
He is a very important horse; o/o multiple Group 1 winner RHODODENDRON (who is by GALILEO), by DEEP IMPACT, one of the world’s best, but unfortunately died an untimely death a couple of years ago. He is the one they’re hoping to keep the two giant blood lines going through the stallion ranks.
We imagine Japanese have been in talks with Coolmore already to try and stand him in their native land. That must be some big bucks… multiple millions.
AUGUSTE RODIN has already won a Group 1 as a 2yo, two Derby’s, an Irish Champion Stakes and a Breeders Cup Turf, so now he’s staying, what are the options for him next year?
A Tattersalls Gold Cup, Prince Of Wales, Eclipse, a couple of Champion Stakes, or maybe an Arc, the Japan Cup or BC Classic?
The world is his oyster…as it is for Coolmore.
Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUND UP
AUGUSTE STAYS
Flat racing was gifted a massive boost for the 2024 season yesterday as Aidan O’Brien announced that AUGUSTE RODIN would remain in training as a four-year-old - just by the interactions on this post below, you can tell everyone is excited.

The once-of-a-kind racehorse, who marries Japanese and Irish breeding together thanks to his GALILEO and DEEP IMPACT pedigree, finished off his 2023 campaign with an enthralling victory in the Breeders’ Cup Turf when we last saw him.
Many people in many different times have cribbed Flat racing for its stars leaving for the shagging shed too soon – ACE IMPACT for example – but with this brilliant horse staying in training, we have a poster boy to market the season around. A beautiful game.
GRAHAM LEE
All of our thoughts are with Graham Lee and his family at the moment as on Sunday night, it was revealed that his MRI scan had shown he had “suffered an unstable cervical fracture causing damage to the spinal cord as well as damage to blood vessels in the mid-cervical region”.
Yesterday, the IJF promised that the organization will provide care and support to the jockey and family and Graham’s daughter has set up a Just Giving page.
Please donate if you can:
Graham’s daughter has set up a Just Giving page, if anyone can donate, even £1 is amazing.

Jockeys put their lives on the line for our sport every day. We wish you the best, Graham.
STUD CHAT
Several stallion fees have been announced over the last few days, so here are the main ones. GOLDEN HORN, on the back of a good season with GREGORY and TRAWLERMAN, has seen his fee increased from £8,000 to £10,000.
💬 "Golden Horn has had a really tremendous year: nine stakes winners, five at Group level – he's outperforming many stallions at far higher fees."

GOOD GUESS, a Group 1 winner in the Prix Jean Prat, will stand at Tally-Ho Stud for €17,500 though MEHMAS has been dropped €10,000 to €50,000 - KODIAC has also had his fee dropped from €40,000 to €35,000.
These price changes add to a whole heap that we have mentioned over the last week or so, though a few we missed were NO NAY NEVER who will stand for €150,000 (- €25,000), TOO DARN HOT for £65,000 (+ £25,000), and ST MARK’S BASILICA for €50,000 (- €15,000).
YOUNG BLOOD
15.48 HUNTINGDON
On pedigree, this is a three horse race between LOVE TREE, SIMPLY BELLE and CALEDONIAN PEARL with strong preference for the former:
15.48 LOVE TREE
Early bumper post as should go odds on tomorrow, 5/4 now.
LA MARQUISE was a great bet last week, the second in behind, LOVE TREE, travelled like the winner the whole way but couldn’t make ground up in the mud.
She’ll take all the beating tomorrow on a better… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

RISK ON
13.55 SUPPORT ACT
Like his name, has seen a lot of support in the market which is telling. His form was boosted yesterday in Hendo’s EAST INDIA EXPRESS bolting up. Was a much bigger price on opening yesterday but happy taking 2/1 in a two horse race. Well fancied today.
