EQUINTIES NEWSLETTER
THE WEEKENDER
OUR LOGO SHOULD BE HERE! (Can you tell we're having difficulties today?)
Gm Equinauts
Our second weekender edition since launching the newsletter!
Might be hard to beat last weekend's edition. Last Saturday we landed a gamble on one of Archie Watson's Royal Ascot bound rockets and then Sunday we 30x our money on the NAP acca.
CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!?
Probably not, but we'll try though. We've had some strong info for yards getting money down on their own.
One bit of word has come from a good friend who's promised to read the newsletter for the first time. Yo, George - I'm letting the tyres down on your whip next time you're on a date if this yak don't come in.
Anyway, let's dive in.
Headline roundup
Pride of Godolphin
Yesterday, Charlie Appleby confirmed that NATIONS PRIDE will be supplemented for the Derby, joining stablemates Walk Of Stars and Nahanni.
The son of TEOFILO, a sire we gave a shout out to previously, will cost the team £75k to be supplemented and is now as short as 7/1, sitting behind Ballydoyle’s STONE AGE and the Dante winner, DESERT CROWN in the market.
New food for thought
The PJA has rolled out a new initiative to give jockeys healthier options at racecourses, rather than serving up “chicken nuggets and chips”.
Spearheaded by PJA jumps president, David Bass, vegan, vegetarian, and generally more edible food will be available to jockeys.
The big races this weekend
Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes. Haydock 14.55.
Haydock hosts a very hot fillies and mares race with William Haggas’ SEA LA ROSA returning after a 213-day layoff and NOON STAR on a revival mission.
The contest also sees Irish Raider, CLIMATE travel back to Britain after finishing fourth in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket. Climate was rated 98 two starts back but has gone up to 106 for losing which makes no fucking sense.
Group 3 John Of Gaunt Stakes. Haydock 15.30.
An open contest with two heading the market demonstrating the weakness of the race - both KINROSS and SUNRAY MAJOR haven’t won in their last three starts.
Having been gelded, Shadwell’s Laneqash returns for the first time since last September and could go well if returning to the same form he was in last year (three good performances in three Group 2 races).
Bumper. Punchestown 17.28
Gordon Elliot’s exciting DEMANDRIVINGDOUVAN makes his debut today, having been bought privately by American owners Rod and Alice Moorhead of Buttonwood Farm (also own Grade 1 winning mare The Mean Queen).
He’s already 14/1 in some places for the Champion Bumper but 4/5 available for today's race. Stinks.
Further news
BRANDY LOVE will stay in training next season after her Fairyhouse success in April, despite the doubts raised by trainer Willie Mullins earlier last month.
Just like Beverley, Haydock's six-race card was abandoned after just two contests due to unsafe ground.
Todays best stats will be posted straight to twitter
(These are not suggested bets but positive stats to highlight trainer/owner targets which can be used confidently to micro-dose your chimp with the acca’s it wants to play).
Risk on
Strong single on BROADSPEAR 16.55 who could be NAP material stepping up in trip on handicap debut. 9/4
Quick fire double on the Amo horses. Got word OLIVIA MARALDA 13.05 was good and I’d say she ran a very good race on debut. DISTINGUISHED LADY 14.05 made a good debut and should hopefully step forward from that. 7/1
Info on
Balding's lot backing CHATEAU against Eve's in the 15.15. 11/4
Strongest word of the day and max bet on Archie Watson's WISEACRE 19.15. 9/4
