Gm Equinauts
When we eyed up yesterdays bets on the Sunday night, we were really quite confident they were delivering the W. We got it wrong with Varian’s but I don't think we got it wrong with Pauling’s.
THE GREY FALCO literally couldn't have won any easier last time out, in what was arguably a much harder race than yesterday. But when a horse sells off from favourite to bottom of the market, you just know that thing ain't winning.
You can't do anything about it, just take the L and go again. It’s beta to cry about bets.
Let’s dive in.
BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP
We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.
People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.
If we hit 100 stables today, top of the BGP private league get’s a new ‘GM’ cap.
HEADLINE ROUND UP
Melbourne for Milton?
Beginning with future plans, Milton Harris has some ballsy flat ambitions and none more so than for his target for stable star SCRIPTWRITER. Mad Milton wants to run the 4yo both in the Ebor and the Melbourne Cup!
Th G2 Triumph Hurdle Trial winner produced a career-best effort on Saturday to finish just a head behind Shaggas’ HAMISH at York and naturally the handicapper has had his say.

SCRIPTWRITER, by the amazing CHURCHILL, could be set to carry a lofty weight should he run in the Ebor.
When interviewed at Newton Abbot yesterday, Milton described SCRIPTWRITER as a picture of the perfect flat thoroughbred. CHURCHILL has obviously stamped him.
Owned by enthusiastic Australian owners, Melbourne has always been their secret plan.
Goodwood for Gregory
As well as SCRIPTWRITER, further plans were revealed for Royal Ascot winner GREGORY yesterday with the Goodwood Cup a likely steppingstone to the St Leger at the end of the season.
🗣️ Richard Brown, racing adviser for Wathnan Racing, on Gregory:
"He's a big horse who's only going to get better with age. His main aim is the Leger and he may well take in the Goodwood Cup on the way because the weight allowance is really significant"

Stable and ownermate COURAGE MON AMI, the Ascot Gold Cup winner, is looking likely to head to York or Doncaster later this year rather than taking in the Goodwood Cup, as shown by his 9/2 price on the book and 4.7 price on the machine.
Richard Brown, advisor to owner Wathnan Racing, said: “At the moment we're training both Courage Mon Ami and Gregory for the race, but only one of them will go. We're favouring Gregory because of the weight allowance and we want to keep the miles low on Courage Mon Ami.”
Coolmore keeping their cool with LBB
And finally, to complete the hat-trick of future targets, Aidan O’Brien has laid down the paths for both CITY OF TROY and LITTLE BIG BEAR after their varying levels of success.
Starting with the one seeking redemption, last season’s champion European two-year-old could take in the Maurice de Gheest after getting him “back up to full work”.

Hopefully, he can return to his best, but one who will be looking to build on his impressive Newmarket win is CITY OF TROY as the lads want to run their JUSTIFY colt once more this year, most likely in the National Stakes on day two of the Irish Champions Festival in September.
He said: "We're looking at the National Stakes for him next. He's such a good mover that we wouldn't want to go too late into the year with him. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I would imagine he might have just one more start this year and it could be the National Stakes. I don't think we would want to be burying him on soft ground."
Check out what JUSTIFY is up to:
He has arrived 🤩,“Justify” The most exiting young stallion in the world right now has touched down in Australia, where he will be crowned Champion First Season Sire at the end of the Month. STATS OF THE DAY
ZINC WHITE was the only bullish stat but made a NR .
RISK ON
Licking wounds after yesterday but on a tough days racing, we’ll pick up the tools and play two speccy blood picks in hopes of a confidence/pot boost ahead of some very nice horses running this week (you’ll already know why ones we’re eyeing up).
19.10 THE EVENTMASTER
Like Young Blood, will do a bit of a bumper preview here based solely on their page. The selection is by new Aga Khan sire SHAKEEL who stands alongside the likes of SEA THE STARS and SIYOUNI. Totally unproven but can't be discounted as he was a good winner of the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris, Saint Cloud. THE EVENTMASTER’s dam side is strong on the flat, dam sire by King GALILEO. Most of the boxes ticked.
Bowens DOIWANNAKNOW next in line at 4’s but is moderately bred and despite the trainer targeting the summer months, this thing needs slow ground.
Rae Guest won a bumper for the same owners of ONE COLOUR last week. Nice enough pedigree but a girl against boys.
Olly Murphy has a great bumper strike rate but his bad sold off all morning suggesting he won't be winning today.
The others on pedigree can't win (imo).
Verdict: Despite a punt on the new sire SHAKEEL, THE EVENTMASTER is best bred for this race. Small bet at 3/1.
19.40 YOUNG MERLIN
A blood play here. Winner first time out for Amy Murphy vs an odds on Fergal horse who has franked the form. Second in market is LUCKY DRAW who is a slow mare. She gets the weight allowance but will need it. Don’s hasn't progressed and on pedigrees alone, the others can't win. Half bet 11/8.
