Equinties - last day before Christmas

It’s the last chance for trainers to land their Christmas bets!

Yesterday was the turn of lesser-known trainer, Mark Rimmel, who ran ex-Stoute horse TIGER BEETLE for the second time under his name.

A half to PALACE PIER, his form suggests he was a frustrating one for Stoutey to train (and even when they took his bollocks off it didn’t help). Perhaps he got lost in a big yard as he’s clearly thriving at Rimmel’s Oxfordshire-based small set up.

The messages flew round for him late but I was too busy watching The Christmas Chronicles 2 to see it in time. Well played Mark Rimmel.

Who’s it going to be today!?

Headline Roundup

SPOTY shuns racing

Only 12 months on from Rachael Blackmore picking up the World Sport Star award at SPOTY, racing wasnt even really mentioned this time. It got about 10 seconds of accumulative air time when they paid homage to the Queen, but that’s it.

A reflection on where the sport is slowly heading?

Government asks for ‘your’ thoughts… again

I’m not sure what’s more delayed, the illusive gambling white paper the government have promised for so long or the monstrous shit show that is HS2.

It seems some facet within the DCMS are seeking further perspective from the public ahead of the ever-pending gambling white paper by asking for short essays on 5 questions related to gambling and its industry in general.

If you care, have your say.

Risk on

ALTOBELLI for Fry shouldn’t lose. Was a huge yard gamble in Feb and now Fry says enough of the bumpers as he’s schooling so well. Should just win but price has gone so use as lev.
