Equinties - boring Buckley

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

You’ve all heard of Viagra. The one time, pump and dump pill. Lasts what - 30 minutes? Rubbish.

For the first time ever, Cialis is available without prescription. And boy it’s an absolute game changer.

Approved for medical use only in 2003, the French call it ‘le weekend’ because basically this thing lasts in your system for 3 day.

Boner’s on demand, for 3 three days!

Perfect for a weekend away when you know you’re going to need a little help.

Try it through UK MEDS, use discount code EQUINTIES10 and thank us later.

p.s none of this is medical advice but we’ve tried it…

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

NO THRILL CONSTITUTION HILL

So, that’s that then. CONSTITUTION HILL is staying over hurdles “for the foreseeable future”

Although the idea of chasing this season had been floated around by trainer Nicky Henderson and owner Michael Buckley, the unbeaten (under-rules) superstar will continue his career over the sticks.

And to be fair, David Jennings from the RP called it aaaage ago in one of the most bullish articles we’ve ever seen that paper print.

So, the decision.

Firstly, it’s a joint decision between Nicky and Buckley but naturally, Nicky receives most of the sh*t from the press and racing fans when decisions appear to be over-cautious.

Basically, what we’re saying is if you have the emotional capacity of a fish and get upset over trainers and owner making decisions for their horses worth so much money you couldn’t even afford the spade needed to muck it’s sh*t out let alone own a hair in it,

then try not to just aim it all at poor Nicky. Give some stick to Buckley too!

As jumps fans, we won’t lie, we’re a little disappointed we won’t be seeing the beast in full flight over a fence but the Gold Cup would the big pull factor for Nicky and if he’s not sure he’ll stay then sticking to what they know is the sensible decision.

A sensible decision for Nicky but perhaps not for racing. Okay fine, the Queen Mother Champion Chase is one of the most prestigious races in the calendar and has an incredible roll of honour behind it - SPRINTER SACRE and ALTIOR just to name two from Seven Barrows. But should he have gone chasing now - or even next season after another Champion Hurdle win - then that would undoubtedly improved his legacy and ultimately, create an even bigger pull on his audience.

Thank god IMPAIRE ET PASSE and STATE MAN are staying over hurdles, at least they’ll make the division a little less boring than it is.

BIG BID FROM BIG EVS OWNERS

The owners of two-year-old superstar BIG EVS have wasted no time in reinvesting their money earned as they splashed €190k on a LOPE DE VEGA filly at yesterday’s Tattersalls Ireland Sale.

Out of DRUMFAD BAY, a Listed winner and Group 3-placed mare, the day one sale topper is a half-sister to Jessica Harrington’s BLUEDRUM who was an impressive maiden winner at Naas last week.

Purchased by Conor Quirke on behalf of the owners of BIG EVS, he said: “She was a standout for me and ultimately the half-sister got her over the line. This filly is lovely and was well-placed here–the breeders are good at their job. Today was not her cup final, she is going to keep improving, which I appreciate. She is a lovely filly and hard to fault. We like the sire, too, and it all made sense.”

Based on last week’s maiden winner, she could be a lovely type going forward and is one to be excited by.

AIRBOURNE

The plane tickets are booked and accommodation will be sorted for Willie Mullins and Rich Ricci as VAUBAN has been allocated a satisfactory 55kg for the Melbourne Cup.

The Royal Ascot and Ballyroan Stakes winner is all systems go for the race down under in November with stablemate ABSURDE set to join him after his Ebor victory.

Further to the delight of VAUBAN backers, Mullins reports that he has passed his second bets exam with “flying colours” and will potentially set off for Australia next week.

With all the talk around this horse over the last two years, is he your idea of the winner?

YOUNG BLOOD

15.10 YARMOUTH

EDGE OF BLUE reps the boys in blue here. As we know the new daddy BLUE POINT has made a fire start this season, the opposite can be said for Charlie Appleby who is having a year to forget.

GLOBAL SKIES is surprisingly short in the market given his trainer and pedigree. By MONDIALISTE (who is only on a 6% sr with 2yo’s), this guy ws staying on well lto at HQ suggesting he’s one for trips down the line.

HONEST DESIRE is the only FRANKEL in the line up. Weak first dam but beter second dam who’s progeny all needed a trip. Might be too slow today and Buick has jumped ship today.

JOYCEAN WAY is by ULYSEES and reps Varian who knows how to win this race. This lad is a half to Shaggas’ beloved SACRED. Drifting 5’s out to 8’s.

MAGNUM OPUS is a home bred making his page hard to read but there are more fashionable ped’s on display today. Repping the Crisford’s who know how to ready one.

PRIMO LARA is by NEW BAY and out of a winning mare who has produced STATEMENT and SELF BELIEF both rated >100. This lad cost half a milli and reps a stable who target this track with nice horses. 12/1 is confusing for a horse with this pedigree.

The others can’t win.

Verdict: We’re stumped as to why PRIMO LARA is 10/1. His yearling photo and price tag makes him (look) better than HONEST DESIRE, GLOBAL SKIES, SPACEPORT, JOYCEAN WAY, TERAABB and PLAGE DE HAVRE.

STATS OF THE DAY

16.35 LOPE DE LIGHT reps trainer jockey combo Balding and PJ McDonald who are 2 from 2 together at course. More, Balding is 3 from 6 with 3yos at track.

RISK ON

We’ll play the Young Blood and stats horse plus:

15.05 THE LINE

Eye-catching lto as per our tweet and now supposedly working with 95 horses at home. A bit of a hot head though so bets down if he f’s about in the pre’s but if he’s calm and professional should be winning today. 11/2 ew.

15.45 INFINITE COSMOS

Has good form in the book, been freshened up and has only run 3x so could still be improving. Get weight from AL ASIFAH who in fairness looked very god two starts back but is too short in the market today. Dirty ew at 9/2.
