Equinties - Ireland's late charge
Gm Equinauts
As summer (unfortunately) appears to be leaving us fast, weather watch is going to be all the more important when betting. The late rain at Bath turned the ground yesterday meaning one of our bets, who was very ground dependant, was ruined.
Not an excuse, as we own our bets, but a reminder of how important going is in racing.
Keep an eye out for BETWEEN THE COVERS on lightening quick ground, she should prove well handicapped.
Racing aside, same message as before - our sponsor UK MEDS has got an offer for Equinauts - BUY 10 MYRKL capsules and get 10 FREE! Just click the link below and use code: EQUINTIES at checkout.
Lets dive in.
HEADLINE ROUNDUP
IRELAND’S LATE CHARGE
Round 4 of the Racing League from Newcastle concluded last night and Team Ireland made themselves known as a late contender for the top spot with just two weeks to go.
Kevin Blake’s side bagged two winners across the seven-race card, with one of them (race 4) occurring when his joker card was played, meaning all points for his team were doubled.
Moving on up! Mighty night for Team Ireland, two winners including one that was jokered. Particularly happy for @JohnnyFLRacing who is a top man and a very astute trainer. @DylanBrowneMcM in double form, sure he’s not bad either. 😏🇮🇪

They now sit just 72 points behind long-time leaders Wales & The West who could only muster one victory last night with BILLY MILL in the third race of the evening.
Although it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, the competition in the Racing League is good, you’d imagine every horse is trying, and with that comes some brilliant action, a case in point being last night’s £100k finale, won by ALLIGATOR ALLEY.
Roll on Wolves next week.
🟩 Another big result for Ireland! 🟩

HANNON EYES DONNY
Richard Hannon’s exciting two-year-old ROSALLION is set to miss the Group 1 National Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend and will instead be aimed for Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster on September 16th.
The BLUE POINT colt was a very impressive four-length winner at Ascot in July and was introduced into the 2000 Guineas market at a general 16/1.
He’s only gone and done it again making it 2 from 2 🚀
ROSALLION is now a Listed winner as he absolutely flies home in the Pat Eddery Stakes under @LeveySean 🔥🥇
Congratulations to owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum!

Instead of facing his rival Irish counterparts, Hannon and connections will swerve a trip overseas and instead keep him closer to home for the Group 2 contest at Doncaster later this month.
Hannon said: said. "It's a nice flat track for him and we didn't want to chuck him in a Group 1 race just yet. We want to give him a bit more experience before that.
"We always thought he was a good horse but we were really taken with the improvement he showed after his win at Newbury. He went on to win very well at Ascot and looks really smart."
MURTAGHS BEST CHANCE
And finally, it’s Irish Champions Weekend next week and plenty of ‘proper’ horses will be on display, none more so than KING OF STEEL in the feature race of the meeting.
In a recent interview with the Racing Post, trainer Johnny Murtagh highlighted his best chance of the week in a race he trained the 1-2-3 in last year.
The former multiple Classic-winning jockey highlighted TAKE HEART as the one to be with, a progressive three-year-old gelding by DARK ANGEL who won nicely at Naas lto.
"Take Heart is a nice horse,” said Murtagh. “I think he’s rated 90, he’s a three-year-old who might sneak in at the bottom of it. I think he might be my best chance, he’s really going well at the moment."
Off the mark 🏇
Take Heart (Dark Angel) shaped well on debut & opens his account at the second time of asking for @Ben@BenCoen2JohnnyM@JohnnyMurtaghcolours set to be represented by Echoes In Rain @Dundalk@DundalkStadium/

Eyes will certainly be on his chances now!
YOUNG BLOOD
17.50 FFOS LAS
MANHATTAN MIRAGE is by INNS OF COURT and out of the mare who produced PERSIAN FORCE for same owners. Like most Amo 2yo’s, we suspect Robson might have readied this one. Ground fine.
BLUE DAY by first season sire BLUE POINT ran a good 4th at Newbury lto in slop. Will handle ground today and sets the standard.
BALCKLION is by SIOUX NATION and out of an average SHAMARDAL mare. Might need quicker ground than he gets today.
AVORIAZ is by first season sire ADVERTISE who has had a poor start to life as a stallion. Very bad debut and although Balding’s come on a lot for their runs, might have too much to find today.
O’Rourke’s horse JUMP JET is a big price given his pedigree. By first season sire TOO DARN HOT (who is having a great time of things lately) and out of a mare who has produced good 80-100 horses.
More Group success for first season TOO DARN HOT as CAROLINA REAPER wins a Gr3 in Baden Baden just now for Charlie Johnston.

The rest appear to be handicapping.
Verdict: Amo and Haynes know how to ready one and the money has come for the half to PERSIAN FORCE, MANHATTAN MIRAGE. The fly in the ointment might be JUMP JET but he needs to have improved from lto.
YOUNG BLOOD
18.13 SALISBURY
DEBORA’S DREAM is by SIOUX NATION but out of a low grade mare who hasn’t produced much of note yet. 5th on debut, the 4th has won since and the front two in the race have gone on to be quite good. His experience will give him an obvious advantage. Leading contender.
EIGHTH ARMY is by LAND FORCE and has been well backed. Dam a producer of winners and a full sister to Gr1 winner AVONBRIDGE. Trainer can certainly ready a first time out debutant, market to guide.
PRESSURE’S ON is also by LAND FORCE, he’s been placed on 3 out of 4 of his starts. Possibly vulnerable to an improver in the field and better off in handicap company.
LE GEYT by ACCLAMATION, cost 20k as a breeze up. Trainers Mother, Emma Balding, is sponsoring the race. Interesting newcomer but best watched on debut.
ASSEMBLY CALL is by first season sire SOLDIERS CALL. Dam produced a couple of good 2yo’s inc. a Gr3 placed. Market to guide. The others have got a bit to find or making their debuts and therefore best watched.
Verdict: It’s going to take either a below par performance from DEBORA’S DREAM or a good one to get past him. EIGHTH ARMY could be that and the trainer can get one ready.
STATS OF THE DAY
We highlighted a gamble from the Roger Teal yard yesterday in FRANKFREYA.
Gamble landed… phew. Luckily there was a stat for it.

Todays are:
Two trainers in Tuer and Goldie target Carlisle and especially excel in 3yo handicaps. They both have runners in the 15.00 but purely on a pricing basis, we’ll side with Goldie’s JORDAN ELECTRICS at 14’s who last won a class 3 making this a considerable drop in class.
Horses for courses, DETECTIVE has raced 19 times at Carlisle and finished third or better in 16 of them… mental stat. He runs in the 16.30.
RISK ON
We’ll play the Young Blood horse’s MANHATTEN MIRAGE and EIGHT ARMY in a 5/1 double plus a small poke on:
15.50 MOUNT ATHOS
Has won at the track before and was a smart second to SPYCATCHER at track in April who has since boosted the form. He’s surely got to be better than his last couple of runs? Small bet to find out at 3’s.
Might be one or two more on X @equinties.
