HEADLINE ROUNDUP
TOWNEND VS KENNEDY
This year, we had a top battle for the jockeys’ championship in the UK, but this Irish jockeys’ championship bash could well be better!
Yesterday, Paul Townend brought the gap to pacesetter Jack Kennedy into four after his success on BALLYBURN, and with Kennedy on the side-lines due to a ban, Townend will be looking to take advantage.
However, there can be no margin of error today as Willie Mullins’ stable jockey has five rides.
Two of which are on well-fancied shots – LOSSIEMOUTH and KARGESE – while the other three come in some competitive handicaps.
The first of which is on KLARC KENT in the four-miler (this is probably his toughest assignment due to the length of the race) and then he’ll sit on GLENGOULY in the three-mile handicap chase before his final ride of the day on OLYMPIC MAN in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.
It’ll certainly be some watch to see if he can pull off one of the great comeback stories.
