Equinties - GOAT MBE

Equinties

Gm, Equinauts

This is it. The last Saturday before Royal Ascot. A day where we look to once again build the punting pot for the most beautiful racing week the world has to give.

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

🐐GREATNESS RECOGNISED

The G.O.A.T RYAN MOORE has been awarded an MBE!

Moore received the title in the King's Birthday Honours in recognition of his outstanding contribution to racing and British sport. The three-time champion jockey has enjoyed a remarkable career, riding more than 2,600 winners in Britain, including 18 Classics and four Derby victories.

We would say we’re in a golden era of horsemanship with Oisin Murphy and Ryan Moore racings equivalent of Messi and Ronaldo, but the standard below them is fairly painful. Thank God we have those two.

Moore has also won the Longines World’s Best Jockey title four times and notched up nearly 3,400 winners including 92 RA winners, 12 jockey titles, and a post-war record of nine winners at a single meeting in 2015. His memorable W’s when partnering the late Queen’s ESTIMATE to Gold Cup victory in 2013.

Elsewhere on the honours list, leading owner-breeder Kirsten Rausing received a CBE for her contributions to racing, bloodstock, charity, and animal welfare, while former Downpatrick racecourse manager Richard Lyttle was awarded an MBE for services to the racing industry.

ROYAL ASCOT ADMIN!

We’re just re-posting this one because it’s so important.

We know what we’re talking about when it comes to winning at betting, so listen up.

Royal Ascot is crazy. And that’s just the car park parties. The racing is the best in the world. That beautiful green strip in the home straight becomes a catwalk showcasing the sexiest animals on the planet, at speed!

But there’s a hell of a lot of racing, and many of the races can look more like a medieval cavalry charge than a horse race with results coming in thick and fast at whopper prices - you’d do well to keep your hands in your pockets most of the time.

This is the time to play the Tote. The pools will be massive and every race is World Pool which, contrary to what most simple minded people on X believe, it is so, so valuable to British racing.

Via the Tote you can access deep liquidity to bet big at a price without getting ‘referred to trader’ or refused.

Plus you have a chance of going for ultimate glory - landing the Placepot! The Placepot’s will be MASSIVE. On the Friday last year, the Placepot dividend per winner was £26,424.30!

As part of your prep (as well as studying and working out your punting strategy (we advise you just follow us on this)) you really really should open a Tote account.

🍑GREAT BUMS

One of the biggest twats in racing, Jamie Osborne, has received a 3 month suspended suspension of his training licence after getting caught taking a snap of someone’s arse at a racecourse lmaooooo.

Osborne admitted to taking a photograph of a woman at a racecourse last summer without her consent, intending to share it in a WhatsApp group called ‘great bums’.

A BHA disciplinary panel found the conduct violated the woman's dignity and fell below the standards expected within racing. Obvs. While the panel stopped short of classifying the behaviour as serious sexual misconduct under the sport's code, it imposed a suspended ban that will be activated if Osborne breaches racing's code of conduct within the next six months.

Osborne, who apologised for his actions, has also been ordered to complete anti-sexual harassment and anti-misogyny training, make a £3,000 charitable donation, and provide written apologies to those affected.

Fantastic.

🚀ROCKETS

Nooo, we’re not talking about the Space X IPO (which turned Elon Musk into the history’s first ever TRILLIONAIRE), we’re on about Team Wathnan.

Their rise shows absolutely zero sign of slowing ahead of Royal Ascot, with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s ambitious operation targeting another successful week at the royal meeting after landing five winners there in 2025.

Since launching in 2023, Wathnan has been propping up the bloodstock markets by investing heavily and building one of the best racing squads money can by, combining purchase power in the sales ring with a growing list of high-profile acquisitions

Racing manager Richard Brown described Royal Ascot as the organisation’s most important fixture of the year, while acknowledging the challenge of repeating last year's record.

Among the horses expected to make an impact are sprinter NIGHT RAIDER, improving stayer VALIANCY and Britannia Stakes contender ORGANISE as well as all their new 2yo recruits.

While established powerhouses like Coolmore and Godolphin remain the clear benchmark, Wathnan is quickly putting themselves as a major force in world racing, and Royal Ascot should provide another significant statement of intent.
