It’s not as cold as when we had the big freeze courtesy of the Troll of Trondheim, but with all the water we’ve had recently it’s going to be tough for ground staff to get their respective tracks fit for racing.

With Newbury off and Lingfield front running the inevitable on Friday, Plumpton has quickly followed suit after its morning inspection.

Irish racing hasn't been impacted however and yesterday saw a horse called GAELIC WARRIOR create a load of shit hum across Racing Twitter.

Racing Twitter was, as always, divided by people who were either very much for GAELIC WARRIOR or very much against, with most of the echo chamber centered on his chances at the Festival.

The cries for 'he won't be beat' countered by the imbeciles who say 'b b b b but he jumps right'.

THE HORSE HASN'T COME OFF THE BRIDLE SINCE HIS SEASONAL DEBUT FFS.

That said, I particularly enjoyed this tweet:

Our view? I really don't care about any horses' chances for Cheltenham right now, and neither should you. No, it's not an 'interesting' debate. It's fucking boring and most are doing thier bollocks flexing ridiculous ante-post bets.

I can't stand the people who say racing is 'a game of opinions'...well, no it's not. Unless you're a part of the real racing world, it’s purely a game of profit and loss for everyone and they’re better off not even thinking about ante-post. Seriously.

'Fuck you, how do BGP do Cheltenham then?'

Well Brains, it's just a race no different to a normal Saturday. Assess it all the night before when ground conditions are set and you know what... It works. We've never had a bad Cheltenham. It's hard enough picking a winner on the day, let alone 3, 6 or even fucking 9 months in advance. Check out last year's winners:

CORACH RAMBLER winner

EPATANTE TP winner

QUEENS BROOK placed

Proof (click quote tweets for other days):

Paddy Power paid out early on JONBON last year because they know 99% of the retards who bet him will smack it all back down on the table again. It was a smart, smart move by them.

Rant over, let’s dive in.

Headline roundup

Best horses of 2022

It’s his performances like this

which has led to accolades like this

and cemented his place in sports history like this

Thats right, FLIGHTLINE has joined FRANKEL at the top of the ‘fastest fucking horse ever’ rankings.

At 140, FRANKEL and FLIGHTLINE are the joint highest ever rated flat horses, leaving fresh air between them and DANCING BRAVE in third.

British trainers Haggas and Gosden have agreed with the rating with Gosden going on to explain why -

“You’ve got a great dirt horse and a great turf horse you’re comparing… Flightline had an incredibly fluent strid and if you watch him it never falters… that’s what he shares with Frankel”.

As Flightline took spot spot in the 2022 best horse rankings, British star BAAEED bagged second.

Young stars

Of the 2yo season, LITTLE BIG BEAR was crowned winner of the best juvenile horse at 125. The son of NO NAY NEVER was awarded the highest rating since 2019, head and shoulders above next rival and stable mate BLACK BEARD rated 119, who is also by super sire NO NAY NEVER.

Joint second with BLACK BEARD saw the Balding trained (and BGP Dewhurst gamble) CHALDEAN rated 119. I’m sure this will come as good news for Dettori whose connections confirmed would ride the Dewhurst winner in this year's Guineas.

Can Frankie win the prestigious race in this, his farewell season?

A personal flex to end this story, AUGUSTE RODIN the joint 3rd best juvenile is out of the second dam to BGP Capital’s new acquisition. His grand sire is NO NAY NEVER… fingers crossed ;)

Brock rocked

Former jockey turned dog trainer Danny Brock has been found guilty of cheating with his rides on MOCHALOV and others. Brock rode MOCHALOV 8 times winning once, finishing second twice but all of the riding styles and results aligned with the back/lay betting patterns of his friends including assistant trainer Sean McBride.

Obviously Brock has made excuses for each ride under inspection but my god the betting evidence basically finds them bang to rights. Lol.

If you're going to cheat, don't get caught ffs.

2000 up for Morris

Yesterday, Arc-winning jockey Luke Morris brought up his 2000th British victory onboard COLORS OF FREEDOM for Archie Watson.

The consistent rider scored on his third ride of the night at Southwell, drawing clear by a length and a quarter to bring up this massive milestone.

With a large sum of winners coming for Sir Mark Prescott, Tony Carroll, and Ronald Harris, Morris has picked up success for 254 individual trainers in the UK (according to our calculations) - that is insane!

Here’s to another 2000, Lukey boy.
