Equinties - Frankel Fever

Frankel Fever

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

A momentary blip mid-bull run is nothing to worry about. SEVEN QUESTIONS really should have won but that’s racing and… well, if they all won, we’d be richer than Croesus.

Despite the absence of the W yesterday, you’ll have all been entertained by plot king SMP doing ‘his thing’ again.

God I love it.

MERCH

We’ve got merch coming and yes, Finndog-themed tee’s will be available …and of course, very limited edition.

Stay tuned.

BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP

We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.

People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.

It’s bad racing today - perfect time to play it. If we hit 250 stables, top of the BGP private league get’s a new ‘GM’ cap.

HEADLINE ROUND UP

 Frankel Fever Down Under

FRANKEL has just sired another Classic winner in SOUL SISTER after his son CHALDEAN won the 2000 Guineas. In Australia, the appetite is ferocious. FRANKEL had two weanlings sell at the Magic Millions Weanling Sale for a total of $1.65 million, both brought by Yulong. He also sired the sales topper at the Inglis yesterday at $825,000.

No pressure

Ahead of their big Royal meeting in less than two weeks, Ascot Racecourse has decided not to ask for an injunction from the high court.

Having consulted with Thames Valley Police, the course are confident that their police and legal presence will suffice for the five-day event.

It’s no surprise they haven’t gone for an injunction as Ascot’s a fortress however we imagine this does pose a small bit of interest for Animal Rising.

If this was a football game, after the Grand National, Animal Rising took a narrow 1-0 lead, though their lead was reduced after Epsom as horse racing banged in a quick response.

Royal Ascot is big for both sides and if we can get past this one unscathed, we could have hope for the rest of the season that we have seen off the wave of uncertainty.

A big Impact

If you were ever unsure just how good the French are compared to the English, just take a look at the latest World’s Best Racehorse Rankings and you might be surprised.

As much as these rankings aren’t gospel, the champion CHURCHILL colt was given a rating of 123 in the rankings placing him joint-fifth with Aidan O’Brien’s LUXEMBOURG following his French Derby win.

The likes of EQUINOX, GOLDEN SIXTY, TITLEHOLDER, and LUCKY SWEYNESSE are ahead of ACE IMPACT on rating while AUGUSTE RODIN is one place behind in 122.

Royal Ascot runner to buy

And finally, this came out on Tuesday but with its reverence still there, we thought we’d mention it.

A 50% share in THUNDERBEAR, an intended runner for the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, will be available to buy through ThoroughBid on June 15th.

The Kodi Bear gelding was fourth to THE ANTARCTIC in the Lacken Stakes at Naas on his last start and has been a constant improver - his trainer, Jack Davison, is hopeful of a big run on his step up to seven furlongs.

Any willing partners for THUNDERBEAR would see the three-year-old sport their colours in the Jersey and could hopefully have a very live chance at Royal Ascot.

NEW FEATURE - YOUNG BLOOD

Notes on pedigree, attractive crosses and sales trends

8:25 Haydock - Young Blood

ANCIENT WISDOM - this Dubawi was second top lot at the Arqana yearling sales last year costing €2,000,000. He’s o/o a Gr3 winning Dalakhani mare who’s a sister to a Gr3 horse and it’s the direct family of Goldikova who is a sister to this lads Grand dam.

CROWN ESTATE - By Dubawi o/o a Shamardal mare called CASTLE LADY who won the French 1,000 Guineas. Bought privately by The Queen off Godolphin, Sheikhy Mo must have been feeling generous at the time as she would be an asset in his broodmare band. This lads Grand dam is a full sister to RAVENS PASS.

VICTORY SHOUT - by Frankel, dam won but didn’t do much else. He cost €350,000. Dam is a half sister to the dam of Breeders Cup winner QUEENS TRUST.

DALLAS STAR - By FSS Cloth of Stars, cost 30k as a foal, 50k as a yearling and then bought back as a 2yo for 180k. Cloth of Stars was a Gr3 winner at 2. This lads dam was unraced but has produced a listed winner in France and is a half sister to AQUARELLISTE who was a Champion Older Mare.

PALADIN - By US Triple Crown winner JUSTIFY and the first foal o/o Listed placed mare Golconda. Cost €70,000, market to guide on debut.

UNDER THE SUN - a February-born GOLDEN HORN o/o a Montjeu mare. Dam was only placed at 3, has produced a listed winner in Germany and is a full sister to Gr1 winning 2yo JAN VERMEER.

Verdict: It will be fascinating to see Godolphin and The King/Queen’s Dubawi’s being unleashed but they won’t be knocked about on debut. Money says Godolphin. DALLAS STAR might just be a bit more streetwise having come from the Breeze Up Sales.
