Headline roundup

Further tragedy to report

Following the tragic news from Manor House Farm on Tuesday, a further horrific event occurred on London Road, Newmarket yesterday as a man working for Cowell named Mazar Allauddin fell off his mount and sadly died.

Cowell has paid tribute to Allauddin as he said: “We are all devastated here at the yard as you can imagine. Although Mazar was only here for two to three weeks he was a very smiley, cheerful person, an accomplished horseman and quickly became a valued member of our small team. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."

Our thoughts are with everyone connected at this tragic time.

Champion Chaser is a mum

Remember PUT THE KETTLE ON? You know, that horse that did the Arkle-Champion Chase double, a feat that is rarely done...

Yeh, we had slightly forgotten about her as well, but her legacy will continue in horse racing as she has given birth to her first foal yesterday, a PLANTEUR filly.

PLANTEUR, a Group 1 Prix Ganay-winning horse, is the sire of TRUESHAN on the flat and the 107-rated MANGUZI, is owned by business (and mega babe (PLANSINA)) owner Simon Davies who is pumping a shit load of money into helping advance British breeding.

Aside from high profile purchases such as PLANTEUR and BANGKOK, he's spent a fortune on French mares too (all trained by ex-Hendo student Tom Symonds) and PUT THE KETTLE is a recent purchase from last years Goffs Aintree sale to boost his portfolio.

Good luck, Simon!

New Oaks initiative

In a fresh move by the BHA, the race that EMILY UPJOHN won last year, a Sandown Fillies Novice Stakes, will now be a ‘win and your in’ race for the Epsom Oaks.

This is a first of its type for the UK Classics and takes inspiration from races that lead to the Kentucky Derby.

The race occurs on bet365 Spring Celebration Day in late April and should attract a decent field size with all vying for that Oaks spot.

Bumper preview

Cba to type out 4 previews so here's the summary BGP Capital received last night.

Risk On

Bookies day today with no apparent 'good things' so don't go giving your bank away just because it looks a lot better than normal, there is a good bet tomorrow which will be in the newsletter.

13.30 FADED FANTASY

Small play here at 14's taking on the 2/1 on fave who might need top of the ground. It should be a bog at Taunton today and this lad will defo go in it and if trying, shouldn't finish out the top 3.  Two things stopping a good bet on this is yard form (Christians had a terrible year) and you never know if they're being plotted.

Betfair paying 11/8 for a top 3 finish so either play that full bet or small stakes on ew extra (3 places) priced about 9's on 365.

14.40 MUMBO JUMBO

This lad is 9/4 now which is too short for a maiden but yard bullish on him none the less. Squeeze can't be just BGP Capital so people obviously piling into him. Ground no issue vs most who might get stuck in mud.
