Yesterday we started the 14 bets to a million challenge. For ya’ll who don’t know what it is, it’s a US TikTok craze where degens typically use NFL plays to keep doubling their money.

Imma hit the match bets.

And we’re already a 14th of the way there.

Future millionaires, let’s dive tf in.

Headline roundup

Breeding partnerships announced

We launched a new feature called Foaling Corner where we showcase stud’s new breeding successes and now prize possessions.

However, what is also brilliant at this time of the year is that not only do mares give birth to future stars and yaks alike, but it’s also the time where once they’ve dropped their foal, they drop their knickers too… it’s mating season, baby!

It was announced by Juddmonte that FRANKEL will cover plenty of mares over the next few months, some of which include:

-EMOLLIENT, dam of Gr2 winner RACLETTE

-BIRD FLOWN, dam of 2000 guineas winner SISKIN

-NIMBLE THIMBLE, dam of Fillies’ Mile winner Quadrilateral

-REPOSE, dam of STATE OF REST, which is extremely exciting

On the flip side of things, it has been confirmed that ENABLE will visit DUBAWI in 2023 after she delivers her foal by the champion sire.

ENABLE visited KINGMAN in her first year as a broodmare and has a yearling colt by him; she is set to give birth to her first offspring by DUBAWI soon, and she is already booked in to see the Irish 2000 Guineas winner for this year.

Record Lincoln entries

It’s February 2nd. The Festival is still ahead of us. We are firmly in the jumps season.

However, early entries for the Lincoln Handicap were released yesterday and it seems like money talks (who could have predicted that one) as 115 have been entered for the big Doncaster race.

Having seen the prize money rise to £150k from £100k for 2023, this season’s tally of early entries has smashed the previous record of 99 from 2020 to show that with increased prize money, trainers will run their horses (most of the time).

2022 saw just 62 horses entered for the race at the same stage as last year, a race won by JOHAN.

Anyway, enough of this, back to the jumps!

Outside chance for the Mares’ Novice

In what looks like a very open but competitive renewal of the Mares’ Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, the British could have an outside chance thanks to Fergal O’Brien’s BONTTAY, an easy winner at Exeter yesterday.

She jumped clear at the last, despite uneasiness at the final flight, and skated in up the run-in to win by a comfortable seven lengths.

But how does she slot into the Mares’ Novice Hurdle picture?

She is a Listed bumper winner and now a hurdle successor, so at 33/1, you can’t complain with that.

However, it looks to be the Irish who have a stronghold on this division and with none other than ASHROE DIAMOND at the top of the market.

Her form is the best, fact – nine-length loss to FACILE VEGA, a four-length loss to MARINE NATIONALE, and two easy bumper wins. That adds up to look very nice.

LUCCIA, although a very nice animal, hasn’t beaten the same level of opponents, however, SHE’S A SAINT and POETIC MUSIC, the two horses she beat lto at Newbury, have since franked the form.

In what looks potentially a standout currently, HARMONYA MAKER could be a flyer at 16/1 – her win to beat PINK IN THE PARK lto was good on the clock, she shaped well when third to SAYLAVEE two starts ago, and her RPRs stack up.

Bumper preview

Wincanton

Horrible mares bumper with no stand out horse so immediately taking on most of the horses top of the market.

LILY LUNA is my pick at 25’s. Out of bumper winner, who in turn is related to good NH horses. One of the better bred and older mares at a whopper price.
