Equinties

Gm Equinauts

Our beloved David Maxwell landed a lovely gamble yesterday which, we won’t lie, left us a little distraught we didn’t jump on.

Well done, David - here’s to many more this season!

Speaking of fantastic jumpers… The Gerri jumpers are flying!

If you’re thinking about buying one but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, there are only a few more days left to order from our store if it’s to arrive in time for Christmas - so ORDER NOW!

Let’s dive in.

You’ve all heard of Viagra. The one time, pump and dump pill. Lasts what - 30 minutes? Rubbish.

For the first time ever, Cialis is available without prescription. And boy it’s an absolute game changer.

Approved for medical use only in 2003, the French call it ‘le weekend’ because basically this thing lasts in your system for 3 day.

Boner’s on demand, for 3 three days!

Perfect for a weekend away when you know you’re going to need a little help.

Try it through UK MEDS, use discount code EQUINTIES10 and thank us later.

p.s none of this is medical advice but we’ve tried it…

HEADLINE ROUND UP

PROAKTIVE PLANNING

It’s been a tough last couple of races for fans of PROTEKTORAT since his Grade 1 Betfair Chase success in 2022 as he has failed to place in the Cotswold Chase, Gold Cup, and 2023 Betfair Chase.

In order to try get him the W and spark some life back into his stable star, trainer Dan Skelton is likely to run the eight-year-old in Saturday’s 3m2f handicap chase at Cheltenham off a mighty rating of 165!

Ultimately, the Class 2 Fleur De Lys Chase at Lingfield at the Winter Million Festival is his aim, but a trip to Prestbury Park this weekend is on the agenda, as Skelton said: "I'll have a think about where we might go and what we might do with Protektorat, but he'll definitely go for the Winter Million, it's whether we get a race in between.

"He's 100 per cent not going to Kempton and I took him out of the Savills Chase because I don't want to go and take them [Irish horses] on. We've got an open book now, the pressure is off. We had a big plan and it didn't come off and we'll re-plan what we're going to do."

So, if he does head to Cheltenham on the weekend, what does that mean for his competitors?

Without knowing the marks the Irish horses are set to be given by the British handicapper, RAPPER is likely to be the last horse to be in the handicap, meaning the likes of CITY CHIEF and recent brilliant Prestbury Park winner BROADWAY BOY will be running off a light racing weight to fly around the Gloucestershire track.

SAM BROWN is also a likely runner off an official mark of 150, a rating that is just three pounds above his last winning mark from his 2022 Betway Handicap Chase success at Aintree.

EYE BALLING PAUL

Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden are eye balling their competition and have made a plan to get Harry to the top.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls had another successful weekend with five winners across Friday and Saturday and according to his weekly Betfair briefing, he could be in for another high-flying week.

The boss of Ditcheat thinks he has some “nice horses” running this week, kicking off with KNOWSLEY ROAD at Ffos Las today – he was third to GREY DAWNING in a Grade 2 at Warwick and off 132, so he should be going close.

MAKIN’YOURMIDNUP, DON’T TELL SU, and QUEBECOIS all got big mentions by Nicholls, and he also revealed that Harry Cobden will ride MONMIRAL in the December Gold Cup while Bryony Frost will be on IL RIDITO.

This season, Nicholls is looking to run a lot of his better horses at places like Wincanton, Ffos Las, and Taunton to give stable jockey Cobden as good a go at the jockeys’ championship as possible.

If Cobden is 20 away from table topper Sean Bowen at the end of the year, then Nicholls is likely to go full steam ahead in search of a maiden jockeys’ title for the brilliant rider.

NEW STAR ON STAGE

Buyers are falling over themselves to pick up horses by WALK IN THE PARK and BLUE BRESIL.

A three-parts brother to recent Paddy Power Gold Cup successor STAGE STAR by WALK IN THE PARK went through the Goffs sales ring yesterday as a wild card lot and went the way of Richard Frisby for €110,000!

Out of SPARKY MAY – a Grade 2-winning hurdler for Keiran Burke who was rescued by owner-breeder Billy Muddyman and Pat Rodford having been found lifeless on the night she was born – the January foal has now been added to Frisby’s pinhooks for the 2026 store sales.

David Cox who consigned the sale topping colt commented, “The late entry was made in order to strike while the iron is hot. Walk In The Park is leading the National Hunt sire table and Stage Star looked even better than last year when he won the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month impressively despite making a mistake.”

The clearance rate yesterday was a dismal 61%. It’s tough at there at the moment for breeders, people are not prepared to be taking risks. As well as the WALK IN THE PARK and BLUE BRESIL’s, the CRYSTAL OCEAN’s are also popular with a top price of 45k.

TODAYS BEST STATS

No luck with our previous gamble horse MACK THE MAN yesterday, he seems to have really lost his way, poor lad.

Today best stat is for Tom Symonds at Fontwell - 1 in 3 there all time and very in the money for every £1 bet. SANTA CLARITA 13.40.

YOUNG BLOOD

WINCANTON BUMPER

This is a wild heat, Anthony Honeyball has 4 running!

LIGHTNING FLASH is top of the market. Won well lto and the jockey nets off the penalty. Ground a concern today.

HILL SPIRIT looking slightly exposed in bumpers atm. Flat pedigree - was he too slow for the flat?

DARK MATERIAL is by new sire JACK HOBBS who has had a few bumper winners. This lad is a half to our previous bumper winner THE KEMBLE BREWERY - so he has the blood to run well today. Dam sire MIDNIGHT LEGEND - hard b*stards.

DODGER LONG came 2nd in a moderate bumper and should get beat again today.

OAKLEY’S WAY is the second Honeyball horse in the line up. By WALK IN THE PARK (the sire everyone is going nuts for), this lad is a half to the well known SPECIAL TIARA. Might want better ground than today.

CREST OF FORTUNE is Honeyballs third horse. This lad probably has the best pedigree of the four for this race. He is a half to bumper winner and Aintree bumper 5th POUR LES FILLES. Ground shouldn’t be an issue.

DANCE AND GLANCE is by PANCING GLANCE whose progeny tend to love mud - think DASHEL DRASHER.

The only other notable horse in this race is SEA VICTORY. Quite nice flat breeding - he is related to RANCH HAND.

Verdict: the money will dictate this bumper and it should really go to one of Honeyballs (will be embarrassing if he can’t win it anyway). If we HAD to hang our hat on one, on a ground and blood basis only, DANCE AND GLANCE 10/1 would be the slop pick. We can see Honeyball filling the top 3, we just don’t know which one to leave out.

RISK ON

With the main bet was a NR yesterday, the closest to yield we got was a big priced place in the bumper which covered more then half the stake on the other bumper bet for a slightly down day.

Today we will play the stat horse for Symonds and a couple of others.

13.40 SANTA CLARITA

Last of three in the field and taking on an odds on shot but this girl is a proper stayer and will just keep plugging on when things get tough. Won’t get an easier opportunity to open her account for Tom Symonds.

Eyes, not risk on…

SMART CASUAL

There is a saying in the (financial) trading world that the market will stay irrational longer than you will stay solvent. What this means is, even when you know you’re right but the market is saying you’re wrong, don’t let ego liquidate you. Cut your losses and move on to another trade. We tipped SMART CASUAL lto with strict instructions - to wait before the off, if he drifts, leave. Same again today. Even though we know this lad is a big fat plot job, he’ll win when connections want him to win. If he starts getting slammed, worth following.
