You know it’s been a slow week in the racing world when the main subject of conversation today is who did breakfast better - me or the Blogger?

Two halves of toast, two hash browns, one sausage, two rashers of bacon, scrambled eggs, avocado, and two pancakes.

He paid $94 for it which in todays market is about £90!

In a café in England, you’d be expecting anything south of £8 - New York certainly saw the Blogger coming from a mile off.

This was mine.

£13 all in, perfectly cooked and filled me to the brim… but you lot only scored it an average of 6/10 with some even calling for a pint to wash it down with. You all need therapy.

Let’s dive in.

Headline roundup

Davy is BACK!

In a shocking piece of news, legendary Irish rider Davy Russell has announced that he will return to the saddle for a short period of time.

It was revealed on Twitter last night that the Grand National-winning jockey will ride on Saturday for the first time since his retirement three weeks ago.

This decision has been influenced by the recent leg break Jack Kennedy suffered at Naas on Sunday as he is unlikely to be back for the Cheltenham Festival.

It looks like Davy could be back for one more Festival, a true send-off for this legend of the game!

Journalists across the country have already been on the phone with trainers this week ahead of the Classic Chase Day at Warwick and the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday.

Ben Pauling says his eight-year-old QUINTA DO MAR has been “prepped for the race [Lanzarote Hurdle]” and NESTOR PARK did a “very good piece of work” ahead of his Classic Chase tilt.

Sticking with the Classic Chase, “soft ground and further distance should suit” Charlie Longsdon’s GUETAPAN COLLONGES.

One horse who is set to serve it up to QUINTA DO MAR is Charles Byrnes’ GREEN GLORY, the current 5/1 joint-favourite.

Byrnes is conscious of how the ground will affect his six-year-old as he said: “The better the ground, the better chance he has and that will be the big thing. Something to keep in mind.

And it looks like STAG HORN, who won the Grade 2 Leamington Spa Novices Hurdle at the same meeting last year and hasn’t been seen for 281 days, looks to be an intended runner in the Lanzarote, according to Nick Scholfield.

COMEDIAN LEADER runs in the 20.00 for Gay Kelleway who’s yard is bang in form. She’s 2 from 4 when teaming up with young Billy too who’s riding out his skin. Gay 4 wins with last 10 runners.
