Equinties - DAVE IS BACK

Note: Still not hired a proof reader, forgive the typo’s - this has been a ball ache to get out.

Boy, oh boy.

Days like yesterday don’t come around often.

Newsletter readers will have landed some good bets throughout the day from both Risk On and Young Blood. Full house.

But BGP Capital, the racing club affiliated to this newsletter had to wait until the last race to get excited.

A bad race at our local track? We’ll take that.

A plan well executed.

By no means a handicap job, he’s just a massive animal who was never ever going to be a 2yo. He needed time, another winter on his back and that’s what we gave him. He’ll improve and stay further.

Between the four of us who contribute to this newsletter (bar Finndog who thought he found the plot), helped by the top tier BGP Capital members who helped get bets on, we took just under 80k. One of us has even has to arrange a call with Bet365 later lmao…I hope it’s Denise.

But that was yesterday and todays a different day, todays for Dave.

Now, lets dive in.

BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP

We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.

People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.

If we hit 250 stables, top of the BGP private league get’s a new ‘GM’ cap.

HEADLINE ROUND UP

Ocean Wind returns

After two years off, Dave is back.

Dave hasn’t been seen since Sandown. We bet him hard that day. People laughed when he lost. I said something wasn’t right. People laughed harder and called it pocket talk.

Well, something was up with him. Quite wrong in fact and he basically hasn’t left his box for two years recovering from tendon ruptures on each leg.

He just got chinned by STRAD at Ascot before Sandown, he wasn’t losing to the likes of f@cking RANCH HAND without a serious malfunction lmao.

Check this out:

He’s been back in work for a long time but I know what you’re all asking in your head - is he winning today?

If this race was two years ago? Max bet. YIBIR won’t stay and the others are boats.

But let’s be realistic. It’s a miracle he’s back. Everyone is praying he just comes home safe and sound. There’s nothing wrong with his ability, albeit he’s two years old, it’s more upstairs. He will no doubt remember his injury and might not let himself down to run fast. Let’s see.

Watch and enjoy it, back him if you want but I genuinely thought I’d never see him on track again so whatever he does, cheer him in.

EVICTED!

The HILLSIN drama has inevitably continued and in a quick course of action, Chris Honour announced to the media that he has asked owner Alan Cregg remove his horses from the yard.

Big clips

The Arqana horses in training sale lit up the racing world yesterday as just shy of 400k was dropped on one horse in the ring.

The purchase of the LOPE DE VEGA filly named LA FILOMENA went the way of bloodstock buyer Stuart Boman. A sister to Listed winner EPIC POET and closely related to PERFECT POWER, buyers will be hoping she has everything needed to be a racing powerhouse.

Elsewhere, 300k was bid for a horse called JAMAICO, a horse who will go to David Pipe. That thing will be racing every week next season then!

He has already won the Prix Al Capone II by 6 lengths at Auteuill and looks a promising prospect but like most French imports, will need time to acclimatise.

STATS OF THE DAY

19.25 GOLDSMITH for Haynes who is in form and she’s got a 50% sr at Sandown. Watch the money - shrewd owners.

Eyes on MORGAN and BARR at Newton Abbot today. They’re 3 from 4 together all time. They’re hurdler in the 15.50 looks the best chance on this ground.

YOUNG BLOOD

No Young Blood today. We’re short staffed; the intern is at the golf, our blood guy is doing a triathlon and I’ve been watching nags work.

RISK ON

A reminder for those with short term memory loss expecting a max bet today, he wasn’t declared for today. He has however been entered for next week and will be a bet. Get excited. Early press the night before for all Saturday subscribers.

For today:

Ya’ll know I love a bumper. It’s actually very close between Young Blood and the bumper preview as to what f@cks best.

Loving Moores SANGIOVESE at Newton Abbot to take on the heavily odds on Bowen horse. His pedigree (mainly sire) is best for Newton Abbot - big galloping track on fast ground. He’s a speccy play. No real size, more a dick out move to see if I’m right but I do really like it. Small bet on blood without any info though.

15.30 SWEET WILLIAM

Should be just leverage for today. Royal Ascot collateral form lines. Pedigree says he’ll LOVE the ground today. Can’t see him beat. Dare I say 8/11 looks a very good price, add to another bet if too short for a single.

15.40 DEVIL’S POINT

Menuisier is not known for 2yo winners but did have one bolt up the other day… at Sandown too. This is supposed to be nice and worth a small punt at the price 20/1 to find out! (Godolphin odds on but they’ve been getting turned over easily this year - no magic carrots? Something stinks with that yard).

17.15 KIMNKATE

Set to go up 8lbs, looks a good single in this weak race. Can expect a better performance from SO CHIC who could prove danger. Full single 11/8.

16.40 GRAND PROVIDENCE and 20.25 POET MASTER

Both very short and been gambled. Worth a half bet double at 3’s.
