Our man David Maxwell was back at it again yesterday with a second win in as many days. And best thing of all?

He bloody told everyone who cared to listen about it.

Long live, David Maxwell.

But before we dive in. We think this might be the last few days of being able to order one of our Christmas jumpers and it arriving in time before Christmas.

If you’re thinking about buying one but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, there are only a few more days left to order from our store if it’s to arrive in time for Christmas - so ORDER NOW!

Let’s dive in.

You’ve all heard of Viagra. The one time, pump and dump pill. Lasts what - 30 minutes? Rubbish.

For the first time ever, Cialis is available without prescription. And boy it’s an absolute game changer.

Approved for medical use only in 2003, the French call it ‘le weekend’ because basically this thing lasts in your system for 3 day.

Boner’s on demand, for 3 three days!

Perfect for a weekend away when you know you’re going to need a little help.

Try it through UK MEDS, use discount code EQUINTIES10 and thank us later.

p.s none of this is medical advice but we’ve tried it…

HEADLINE ROUND UP

D’AINAY DENIES TREND

What is the one thing that has been a common theme this jumps season?

The answer is that Willie Mullins-trained horses have been needing their first runs of the season.

Well, this was not the case for ELIXIR D’AINAY yesterday as the horse who had been off the track for 1,372 days(!) won a conditions hurdle comfortably under Mark Walsh.

Having last seen the nine-year-old when falling at the second-last in the 2020 Supreme Novices Hurdle, he gave 19lbs away to the second, WHIMSY, and won by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

So, what next? Well, JP McManus’ racing manager, Frank Berry, said he would likely head over fences in the near future, and with the way the Supreme in 2020 has worked out since, with the likes of SHISHKIN, CHANTRY HOUSE, and ASTERION FORLONGE, he could well step up in trip.

MULLINS VS ELLIOTT

Willie Mullins’ EMBASSY GARDENS was cut into 12/1 for this season’s National Hunt Chase after his successful chasing debut yesterday.

The 7yo has always looked like a thorough stayer despite his two defeats in the spring, and he now sits as the main betting rival to the Gordon Elliott-trained pair of FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU and THREE CARD BRAG in the National Hunt Chase.

Interestingly, apart from the top three in the betting, the National Hunt Chase looks pretty bleak currently. GIOVINCO (12/1) looks more likely to go down in trip than up, KLASSICAL DREAM is too classy for the race, SALVADOR ZIGGY failed to win in America, MAXIMILIAN (16/1) is injured, BROADWAY BOY and STAY AWAY FAY (20/1) will go to the Brown Advisory, and so will CORBETTS CROSS (20/1).

The only ones who could be heading down this route are FACT TO FILE (20/1), NICK ROCKETT (22/1), and maybe MONTY’S STAR (33/1).

WIN AND YOU’RE IN

Over the last few days, word has been floating about that the BHA are considering limiting trainers to a certain amount of horses in one race, something that hasn’t gone down too well.

Another possible change to racing pitched by owner Carl Hinchy is something that happens worldwide yet fails to occur in the National Hunt scene, and that is ‘win and you’re in’ races.

It’s an interesting concept and one that should probably be explored. In recent years, the likes of IWILLDOIT have been unable to enter the Grand National due to specific regulations despite his Welsh Grand National Triumph. He clearly stays and jumps well, yet he was unable to go.

So, why do we bring this up? Well, yesterday the Jockey Club and Ascot embraced the ‘Win and you’re In’ style to some of their big Flat events, notably with the Epsom Derby and Oaks.

In essence, the winner of the $500,000 Grade 2 Edgewood Stakes (fillies) on Kentucky Oaks Day and the winner of the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes (colts) on Kentucky Derby Day will be given a wildcard entry and travel incentive to race in the Epsom Oaks and Epsom Derby respectively.

Furthermore, a runner from the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint on Kentucky Derby Day will be given the same incentives to race in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (formerly known as the King’s Stand Stakes) and a runner from the Grade 1 Old Forester Turf Classic Stakes will be given the same to run in either the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes or Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes. GOFFS NATIONAL HUNT FOAL SALE

The WALK IN THE PARK bandwagon rolled on in to the second day of selling at Goffs National Hunt Foal Sale with 3 out of the top 5 lots being by the Sire.

The top price of 90k was given to the son of Listed placed mare APPY DAYS who is a full sister to a Grade 1 placed hurdler. The winning bid came from a branch of the Coolmore team in Gerry Aherne and Charles Shanahan. Shrewd judge and breeder Cathal Ennis bred the sale topper in Ireland and said after the sale, “I've had my fair share of setbacks and bred enough slow ones too. I'm not saying I'm successful at all, but if there's one thing I am very fussy about, rightly or wrongly, it's broodmare sires. I love mares by King's Theatre (Broodmare Sire of the sale topper), Presenting, Saint Des Saints and so on.

“I set a lot of store by them. Look at Saddlers' Hall, who was disappointing as a sire, but his daughters were dynamite.”

The other WALK IN THE PARK big lots were an 80k and a 70k while the the other Stallions who had progeny in the top 10 were CRYSTAL OCEAN (2), ORDER OF ST GEORGE (2), BLUE BRESIL (1) and NATHANIEL (1). At the close of trade, 132 lots sold (58%) for a gross of €2,157,800. The median rose €20% to €12,000, which is good.

DANDY MAN RIP

DANDY MAN passed away at the age of 20.

The son of MOZART raced for 5 years. He was a listed winning 2yo who trained on to be a Gr3 winning 3yo, Gr1 placed at 4 before selling to Godolphin and racing on to be Gr1 placed and Gr3 placed. Con Collins trained him and then at the age of 4 he switched to his daughter Tracy Collins who he got his Gr1 bronze medal for and then on to Saeed bin Suroor.

His best progeny was Gr1 winner PENIAPHOBIA, Windsor Castle winner EXTORTIONIST, Gr2 winner MOONIESTA who was sold at the end of her career for 850k, and HAPPY ROMANCE who has amassed winnings of over 700k for the McMurray Family after being bought for 25k.

DANDY MAN spent his whole Stallion career at Ballyhane Stud. Owner Joe Foley commented, “It was very hard to say goodbye to him, and we are grateful for all that he has given us over the years he has been here with us. He was like a member of our family.”

YOUNG BLOOD

Yesterdays bumper result felt like a kick in the teeth as we should have picked CREST OF FORTUNE and played only that instead of three bad singles. We said “CREST OF FORTUNE is Honeyballs third horse. This lad probably has the best pedigree of the four for this race. He is a half to bumper winner and Aintree bumper 5th POUR LES FILLES. Ground shouldn’t be an issue”.

Anyway, on to today’s…

EXETER BUMPER

All eyes on QUEBECOIS in this because boy was he expensive. Only second in a Point but fetched ÂŁ320k and went home with the McNeill’s, that’s big money. The winner of said Point went home with Maxwell!

By NO RISK AT ALL, who does sire bumper winners (think GOOD RISK AT ALL) but most develop later in into lovely chasing types. Even money for todays rules debut.

Second in the market is Skelton’s JACK BLACK. This lad is by a relatively unexposed sire in TIRWANAKO. His progeny to date have been good mud lovers - probably something to do with the tenacious mindset he had himself (plus he does carry that special NORTHERN DANCER blood. All French, should love the mud and go well.

DRUMHELLER placed in an okay Sandown bumper last time out but this will be tougher.

The others have okay NH ped’s but aren’t close to the top two in the betting making it a two horse race.

Verdict: Nicholls’ will be expected to win this given price that but it’ll be deep ground out there and that will suit JACK BLACK at 5’s.

RISK ON

Three bad singles yesterday although the gamble nearly paid off on JP’s SMART CASUAL off was finally ‘off’ but just collared late on the line having gone 1.01 in running!

We’ll have a small ew play on the Skelton horse against the Nicholls hot pot purely on a ground basis.

Any other singles will be posted to X.
