Equinties - cotton wool for Little Big Bear

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

I know I said it was ‘quite sure’ you’d be able to register interest for BGP Capital yesterday, but like all ‘good things’ they’re never certainties, unless it's word from Haggas’ yard. I’ll continue to back myself though and bet the page will launch today.

As we get closer and closer to launching, I’ve noticed a little spike in trolling – ‘the takers’ trying to sabotage it. That’s their name now, ‘The Takers’ – they take take take but offer fuck all back and add ZERO value to the racing world.

Oh, by the way, I appreciate those of you who kindly tag me in these convo’s so I can see what the Takers are saying, none of them ever tag me so I’d never actually see what Jim with 1 follower is saying about me. Tens of thousands of you have my back because of a trust and loyalty earned by being transparent and honest on Twitter over the last two years, and it’s because of this I see everything not only on Racing Twitter, but everything said about us in telegram chats too.

Want to know a feature shared by all people hating on BGP, besides all being desperately jealous? They’re all selling something. They have an agenda and see me as a threat to their revenue. Never forget that.

Those trolling BGP Capital can’t stop this launch and honestly, nothing excites me more than the thought of executing some of the biggest trades both on and off the track for them all to see.

Now, let’s dive in.

Headline Roundup

Big setback for the Big Bear

The gamble of Royal Ascot 2022 and subsequently the best 2yo we have seen this year; LITTLE BIG BEAR will be put away for the rest of the season and NOT pursue the intended target, Gr1 Darley Dewhurst at Newmarket next month.

It’s quite a bullish move from big Aidan given there’s nothing wrong with him. LBB was ruled out of last Sunday’s National Stakes due to being “a little bit sore” following his Phoenix Stakes victory but says  “He's (now) perfect, there's not a bother on him - we felt hurrying him for the Dewhurst wasn't the right thing to do.”

When trainers have a potential superstar on their hands, they are inclined to wrap them up in cotton wool, I get it (and agree with it, 2yo’s are still babies), and yeh it’s frustrating for racing fans but equally, it’s the right thing to do and only builds up the excitement for something special in the future.

All roads now lead to the 2023 Guineas for LITTLE BIG BEAR – officially the highest-rated 2yo this season.

It’s Hendo over Murphy for Coleman

Warwickshire-based trainer Olly Murphy revealed on Sky Sports Racing that Aidan Coleman will no longer be the stable’s retained rider for the upcoming jumps season.

Coleman has ridden 114 winners from 562 rides for Murphy across six seasons - notable successes together include BREWIN’UPASTORM in the 2021 Gr2 National Spirit Hurdle and COPPERLESS in the 2021 Gr3 Swinton Handicap Hurdle.

The break-up looks an amicable one though as Coleman hasn’t hidden the fact that he wants quality over quantity. Spending most of his time at Sevenbarrows, Coleman is probably close to being No.1 jock for JP and will pick up some proper rides for Nicky H.

Hendo has bought 18 store horses this year – he rarely buys that many (and obviously he’s going to be sent loads too), so with no sign of slowing down, Nicky is going to make regular use of Colemen.

Sean Bowen is set to take on a more prominent role within the yard - he currently sits second in the jump jockey’s championship with 55 winners, 16 behind the runaway leader Brian Hughes.

Gamble landed

BGP 1 were on the receiving end of whispers that James Ferguson’s ZOOLOGY was a bit of a rocket – squeezed from 7’s into 2’s he obliged and earned quotes of 50/1 yesterday for the 2000 Guineas.

A penultimate furlong of 10.77s followed by a powerful finish to the line handed this ZOUSTAR colt a four-length victory ahead of David Simcock’s 90,000 guineas purchase ARARAT.

By a Gr1 winner at seven furlongs and out of PEACH MELBA, a 98-rated mare predominantly operating over a mile, ZOOLOGY is entered for Gr1 Middle Park later this month, a race he is currently 16/1 for.

Check the market for the Middle Park and look who is joint fave now NOBLE STYLE has been ruled. Now, that’s a proper ante post bet.

Risk on

15.00 LEADENHALL

Following the money on this lad (Beckett’s money normally bang on) and his ped suggests he’ll have absolutely no problem with the ground. Half bet at 7/4.

15.20 VILE DE GRACE

Ground dependant filly whose form is Gr1 and Gr2, this is a Listed race. 2/1 widely available for what should be the best horse in the race. Full bet.

Pretty sure TIME STEP in the 17.37 can be used as 3x leverage for any single. We smashed him on debut and his last run suggests he could be well handicapped in this race.

Two, maybe three further bets will be posted on Twitter.
