Equinties - Bye Bye Boughey

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

Yesterday’s markets were pretty lively for the first Monday after the mayhem of Royal Ascot, as several owners tried to land gambles.

The first one, that we followed the coattails of, was George Scott’s MOULIN BOOJ.

He needs 6f and will be winning soon.

The other big gamble of the day was at Windsor. The whispers were that FREE NATION was a bit of a monster and subsequently, his price was smashed in from 5’s into 7/4.

Running green (not helped by Tudhope losing his whip), he finished second but the market suggested he’d defo one to follow.

Now, let’s dive in.

MERCH

Merch store pending!

We received a test sample (the one I’ve been wearing all weekend) and we’re not quite happy with it. We want the merch to be perfect, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer max

BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP

We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.

People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.

If we hit 250 stables, top of the BGP private league get’s a new ‘GM’ cap.

HEADLINE ROUND UP

Bye bye Boughey

Following his disappointing ninth in the Coventry Stakes, ASADNA, the Twitter time bandits horse, has moved from George Boughey’s yard to Alice Haynes.

Now, although this is a change of scenery, he doesn’t exactly have to move far…

For owner Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah, it’s not just him who is leaving Boughey as of the nine horses raced for him in the notable green and white silks, the BHA website doesn’t list them as still at Saffron House with a few set to go abroad.

This isn’t the first time this owner has done this as he moved 24 horses out of Kevin Philippart de Foy after the trainer refused to be a private trainer for him. Bizarre.

SAKHEER out for a while

Roger Varian revealed yesterday that Mill Reef winner SAKHEER will have some time away from the track after disappointing in the Commonwealth Cup.

The ZOFFANY colt finished last in the Group 1 race won by SHAQUILLE and has been investigated for front limb lameness.

Though, forgive us for stating this, but the hugely talented three-year-old drifted from 7/2 to an SP of 17/2 right before the off. Me and my tin foil say someone knew something.

Anyway, we wish him a speedy recovery.

Dettori ban extended?

After a brilliant last Royal Ascot, Frankie will be probs forced to spend some time on the sidelines as he was handed a nine-day ban for improper riding on SAGA in the Wolferton.

This ban means he will miss the Coral-Eclipse and a ride on EMILY UPJOHN, however, it could get a lot worse for Lanfranco.

According to the video, Dettori struck INSPIRAL seven times in the Queen Anne, one strike over the limit. That is a four-day ban which is doubled for a high-class race.

Looking at the steward’s report from the BHA, the Italian was called in for questioning for interference after the first but wasn’t picked up for strikes.

When the latest bans report is released, take a look for Dettori as a further ban could see him miss the July Meeting at Newmarket and that illusive July Cup ride on Kinross.

Watch this space.

RISK ON

15.15 KIARAAD

Runs with a high head carriage which would put me off a good bet on this lad. Small single and treble with the other two.

16.15 WESTERNESSE

Nice pedigree and should have juice left in mark since being stepped up. Others look exposed and have lesser ped’s. Half bet at 9/4.

18.40 LADY OF LEISURE

The experience and the weights she receives off PINK SATIN should mean she’ll be tough to beg back today. Balding needs a winner so only half bet.
