Merry Christmas, Equinauts
THE RACING IS BACK!
Now, regular readers will know we tend to only preview the big Graded races (they’re the races featuring the best horses (or should be anyway)), but look, it’s Christmas time, and Boxing Day is a slightly different. Boxing Day is Christmas Day II for most, another morning where it’s wholly acceptable to start boozing as soon as you wake up, chow down a few home-made sausage rolls and wait for the arrival of the friends and family who didn’t quite make Christmas Day’s first team line up.
Boxing Day quickly becomes an endurance test of calorific consumption and toleration of the conversations about your career progression which, thank f*ck, only come round once a year. There are only so many lies you can tell to aunty Catherine. The Board of the household (the wives and gf’s) might not allow the racing to play centre stage of the days entertainment, but most of you might be allowed to let it hum quietly as background noise if not for an opportunity to teach the family about our beloved sports of Kings.
So, if you can get aunty Catherine to watch the King George, let’s try and impress her! Big race previews and ITV Racing picks for you below.
