Equinties - book 2 strong af

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

The boys are busy at the sales, not spent a penny yet and don’t anticipate too as yet… they’re inspecting as many horses as possible and watching them all fetch too much money.

Their hope is for everyone to do their bollocks on over-priced book 2 horses, leaving book 3 the value hunting ground.

Now, let’s dive in.

Headline Roundup

New ‘STAR’ tops the day

Yesterday marked the first day of Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales, but most importantly, the first day we began looking for fresh talent for BGP Capital.

Unsurprisingly, we did not take home the top lot, that was left to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock as they secured a SEA THE STARS colt for 800,000gns.

The first foal of KITCARINA, a SHAMARDAL mare, the yearling was secured within the first hour of yesterday’s sale and is set to be trained by John & Thady Gosden - his 800,000gns price tag is 275,000gns more than the Book 2 top lot from 2021.

More on this sale:

Later on, BBA Ireland placed an online bid of 700,000gns for a FRANKEL colt out of the Listed successor HADAATHA.

The dam has already foaled two winners from just four offspring - the four-time winner AL HUSN and MOSHAAWER, a full brother to yesterday’s yearling.

Elsewhere at the sale, SEA THE STARS had a part to play in the third-most-expensive sale of the day as a colt by his Gr1-winning son SEA THE MOON sold for 410,000gns.

Out of a full-sister to PEARLS GALORE, this year’s Gr1 Matron Stakes successor, Yeomanstown Stud’s colt has a lovely pedigree and was bought by Oceanic Bloodstock for White Birch Farm SC.

And for just 35,000gns less, Paddy Twomey, trainer of PEARLS GALORE who is off to the December Sales in less than two months' time, secured a full-sister to the 105-rated KING VEGA.

Her dam, MOI MEME, is related to PARLE MOI and two Group-placed mares.

Good racing on a Wednesday?

Some of last season’s top national hunt stars will be on display at Punchestown on Wednesday following yesterday’s declaration stage.

The highlight of which is Gordon Elliott’s GALVIN, fourth in this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup and 2021’s Gr1 Savills Chase successor.

He is working towards the Gr1 Ladbrokes Gold at Down Royal, a race he was second in 12 months ago.

He is set to be joined by stablemate RUN WILD FRED and last season’s Irish Grand National winner LORD LARIAT in the six-runner field.

ADAMANTLY CHOSEN is at the head of the supporting cast in the Gr3 Buck House Novice Chase 35 minutes before.

13.35 GETAWAY DRUMLEE

Shit race, won a point and fancied by yard. Not a fan of Pauling horses but tbf to him his yard is in form.

14.30 HIGHBANK

Trackening horse. Should just win although have him down as a odds on shot, so 11/8 is a question mark. Strong single Small double pays just shy of 4’s.
