Equinties - BHA bend

Equinties

Gm, Equinauts

Listen, the BHA have been getting a lot of sh*t for seemingly bending over backwards for one horse but just so ya’ll understand our point of view on, we couldn’t care less.

Obviously, it’s the right thing to do - he’s the poster boy of the sport. Every single person who doesn’t know racing still knows CONSTITUTION HILL’s name.

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

BHA BEND

You’ll be aware that the BHA have been at risk of turning into a laughing stock (we thought it simply their permanent state) when it came to light CH was at risk of getting balloted out, owed to the massive number of entries from trainers eyeing up the prize money. It has now forced the BHA to double down on their efforts for they have signed off a plan to increase stabling capacity at Southwell so that he is almost guaranteed a run.

14 now run, he’s number 16, SECRET SQUIRREL won’t declare so all CH needs is for one to drop out! Maybe the BHA can send a dodgy vet there on the day to do a Melbourne Cup on them as they were an AOB hot shot lmao.

CH is currently sitting a ridiculous 6/4-on, at the top of the market in front of the like’s of Amo’s SQUARE KNECKER, Mullins’ DADDY LONG LEGS and Fergal’s TRIPOLI FLYER. Okay do you wouldn’t bet against CH against them on the hurdles track, but Southwell under lights over 1m 4f!?

A bit tight, come on. We shan’t get into pricing right now because that is a different story but just know, he should NOT be that price.

DE BROMHEAD STABLE

We mentioned Henry’s bullishness on BOB O last week but his stable tour was released in the RP overnight and he’s labelled him the bet of the Festival. Sorry, Blogger!

In the summary of his Cheltenham team, Henry tells an anecdote about how he was at a preview night two weeks before the ‘25 Festival whilst he was looking for BOB O in the Stayers market, he got all the way down to 20/1 and genuinely feared he forgot to enter him! He was there though hiding between the other unloved lots and, as we know, the rest is history. A story perhaps with a lesson; don’t forget about BOB O.

As for his other main contenders, he sounded quite sweet on QUILIXIOS. He’s had set backs but was bang there in the Champion Chase last season before tipping over. He won’t go there without a chance in a race which Henry admits has been lucky for his yard.

Henry ‘really does’ think ENVOI ALLEN has a chance in the Gold Cup. What a story that would be.

ECHOING SILENCE has been saved for the Mars’ Novice Hurdle and, given she won well on ground she wouldn’t have liked, should show nicely on better ground.

On KINGS BUCKS, Henry made similarities with MINELLA INDO after describing him as a ‘really nice horse’ but heading into the Albert Bartlett as a maiden. MINELLA INDO won at 50/1 and then went on to win the Gold Cup. KINGS BUCKS is 40/1…
