Gm Equinauts

Hollie Doyle must have read this tweet and thought ‘f@ck you, I’ll tell you if the double is pending or not’

Shaggas double backers fell victim to the probably worst ride in possibly a long time… A genuine shocker and so hard to take when you know you’re right and should have the money in the bank.

At least we’re on the right horses. Lfg.

MERCH

Merch store pending!

We received a test sample (the one I’ve been wearing all weekend) and we’re not quite happy with it. We want the merch to be perfect, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer max

BGP FANTASY LEAGUE COMP

We’ve been hyping up the TOTE’s new Fantasy game since we found it. Why? Simply because there is nothing else out there now which can help people cage the betting chimp while maintaining an emotional interest in the big races of the day.

People bet way too much and the Fantasy allows you to get limited risk on, fill your brain up with the dope it craves and still be in the mix for a big win.

If we hit 250 stables, top of the BGP private league get’s a new ‘GM’ cap.

HEADLINE ROUND UP

Bearish for Emily backers

Can WhatsApp move a market?

Well, it did. The WhatsApp whispers that PADDINGTON was in fact going to Sandown preceded a big market move for the bear, 5’s into 3’s.

As a consequence of the ‘defo going Sandown, bouncing, get on now at 5’s’ forwarded multiple times, Aidan O’Brien’s Irish Guineas and Royal Ascot winner, PADDINGTON, has seen sustained market support for next weekend’s Coral-Eclipse as he now sits not far from EMILY UPJOHN.

Having been as big as 27.0 when the Coral-Eclipse market opened on the Betfair Exchange, he is now 3.55.

Although indications would suggest he might be going, just remember when Willie Mullins entered Galopin Des Champs for the King George and he shortened remarkably – that didn’t happen, and this isn’t officially confirmed by the yard yet.

Someone who won’t be at Sandown’s marquee Flat racing event is Frankie Dettori as an appeal into his nine-day ban for careless riding on SAGA in the Wolferton was rejected yesterday – he won’t be riding until after the July Cup once his ban starts on Tuesday.

Money ring

Sales season for the jumps boys is always a fun time and after Olly Murphy’s half-a-million purchase yesterday, his former boss Gordon Elliott went to €265,000 to secure a son of Kayf Tara.

His full-brother, ROMEO COOLIO, made £420,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale in March when bought by KTDA Racing (MOUNT IDA colours) and by all accounts, Elliott seems happy enough with his three months at Cullentra that he wanted to go in for his full-brother.

Elliott even said: “He’s not too unlike his brother,” so they must like the homework from his brother.

Looking closer at the page of lot 397, the dam, Miss Bailly, is a sister to CAP SOLEIL (two-time Listed winner and Gr2 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdler runner-up) and she is a three-time winner over in France in her own right.

NASHWA drops in class

And finally, having won the Group 1 Prix de Diane just over 12 months ago, NASHWA drops down to Group 3 company for the Hoppings Fillies’ Stakes at Newcastle tonight.

The Frankel filly has been smashed in from 11/10 to 8/15 already for John & Thady Gosden and Imad Alsagar with just eight over fillies to face.

Can anything beat her?

Although it may look unlikely, a horse who has been promising to step up is BRIGHT DIAMOND for Karl Burke.

She was fifth in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile last season having finished third to Fairy Cross before that and bolted up at Newmarket last August.

Her third on the all-weather to Eternal Hope in the Lingfield Oaks Trial was promising and if you can discount Epsom (something easy to do), a return to the all-weather and running over 10f for the first time could spark some improvement.

YOUNG BLOOD

17:35 Curragh

This looks a good one.

YLANG YLANG - by FRANKEL o/o 3 time Listed-placed mare SHAMBOLIC, Magnier and his Coolmore partners forked out 1,500,000gns for her. She’s got two eyecatching Gr1 entries, Ryan Moore takes the ride. There’s a lot to like about her but trainers runners do come on a lot from the run.

DOLLERINA - a homebred of TV pundit and breeder of A DREAM TO SHARE Brian Gleeson; by TERRITORIES, a half-sister to a Listed winning 2yo. Market to guide.

OPERA SINGER - by JUSTIFY, a half-sister to 2yo Breeders Cup winner HIT IT A BOMB, Royal Ascot winning 2yo BRAVE ANNA and THREEANDFOURPENCE who was 4th in the Gr1 Dewhurst. Superb pedigree, second string for the stable but ‘could be anything’ on pedigree.

CENTURIA - cost 300,000 euros as a yearling, looks like a precocious type. By first season sire ADVERTISE, first foal o/o a mare who won at 3. Dam is a half-sister to STUNNING SPIRIT who was a good horse between 7 and 8 furlongs. Second dam is a full sister to Champion 2yo filly RAINBOW VIEW.

ENTHRALLING - the first foal o/o a mare who was second on her fourth start in the Queen Mary S. at Royal Ascot. By GALILEO which is the reason she’s starting over 7f as he has such a big influence on stamina. Market to guide.

FINSCEAL LUAS - the 11th foal o/o multiple Gr1 winning mare FINSCEAL BEO. The mare was a very good racehorse but she’s been a patchy producer to say the least. Best watched on debut.

Verdict: As you would expect with her price tag YLANG YLANG looks an absolute dinger. Could be a name we’ll be hearing a lot more of this year and next. DOLLERINA for Joseph has had plenty of market support and looks intriguing.

RISK ON

19.35 HAVANA BLUE

Don’t think the others are good enough to beat him.

More bets will be posted on @equinties Twitter as they come in.
