Equinties - Ayr and Newbury

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

We didn’t put up any bets yesterdays despite a day where there looked to be some brilliant opportunities.

Instead we were dealing with a bookmaker who reneged on a contract. This is the first time it’s ever happened to us and actually, can’t quite believe it happened.

We have written to the company with evidence in the hope they will make the right situation.

If not resolved, will go to IBAS and lodge a case.

We also have the contact details of the UK director who we will approach with all the evidence and make him aware of the illegal and immoral behaviour his company is conducting.

If that fails, we will make public what has happened and ask every one reading this to engage with our post so that governing bodies such the Gambling Commission and the Jockey Club cannot ignore the malpractice that occurs in the industry.

This is not about money, but principal. And whether you’re a fan of this newsletter or not, you should support us, the punter, against the bookmaker who already is making life so unfair for their customers.

Our case in unbelievable. More to come on this.

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

DERBY DREAM

Does Owen Burrows have a live chance in the Epsom Derby this year?

We think he’s one of the best flat trainer’s around and with the right stock would be able to lay upsides any of the the big dogs like Shaggas and Beckett and now he might have the right ammunition as GETHIN looked more than useful at Newbury yesterday.

Now, firstly, we want to make it clear that the Balding horse FALCONER broke down on the track in this race yesterday. Our thoughts are with connections. Incredibly, we understand ITV racing even replayed by accident post-race. These things simply cannot happen.

Back to Burrows.

The son of GHAIYYATH did it quite nicely. He sat prominently, he was chilled out, and he showed a good attitude to go through the line at speed. Ticks plenty of boxes.
The boxes he doesn’t tick include the Group-level form - notably as a juvenile - and the substance of his form so far.

Winning a Nottingham novice before beating a 92-rated SADDADD doesn’t scream “Epsom”, but connections can only hope and the Derby is the new plan, as Burrows said: Definitely, based on what he's done now.

"He's in the Dante and I liked this race as it gives us a bit of time. There's Chester, Lingfield and York, so we can dream and see what's what. We'll see what the opposition is but he's a well-balanced horse and it's a Derby, isn't it.

“He's still a big, raw baby, so he'll improve for getting that out of his system. He was a bit fresh in the stable earlier, but he's a work-in-progress and you can't be anything but impressed with him."

He may not be a Derby horse, but he looks a smart one at the same time. Eyes on!
