CONSTITUTION HILL at even money. He has one fall and every one thinks he’s lost a leg.

Is this a gift from the racing Gods or is Denise’s superboost a curse from betting hell?

We imagine Nicky will have added something to his coffee this morning just to settle his nerves. Don’t worry Nicky,

she won’t lay a f*cking a glove on him.

Let’s dive in.

HEADLINE ROUNDUP

FIRST SEASON SIRES

It’s that time of year where unlike most normal people, our fun is derived from looking at the betting market for the leading first-season sire and trying to work out the winner!

We bring this up now as LOPE Y FERNANDEZ, the 2020 Irish 2000 Guineas third, got his first winner on the track yesterday thanks to SOCIAL INCLUSION, his second runner under rules.

Not too long ago, STARMAN hit the ground running with his first runner, LADY IMAN, who won at Dundalk impressively:

He sets the standard for a few reasons, but the number of two-year-olds that he has is the standout cause. He has 211 juveniles in training this year, which is a considerable number more than LOPE Y FERNANDEZ with 99. The other first-season sires to note are SUPREMACY (129), SPACE BLUES (113) and ST MARKS BASILICA (132) who all have more and arguably better profiles.

On that betting list for the first-season sires is LUCKY VEGA, and he is certainly an interesting one. He’s made a very good start in Australia with his first runners (stood a season there before starting in Ireland). Got a great backing from his owner Yulong with some lovely mares. They look nice types.

We thought LADY IMAN looked good for STARMAN at Dundalk last week, and Tally-Ho are certainly revelling in the fact that they still have her in their ownership. He will have a great year, but at the prices shown in the tweet above, we wouldn’t mind SUPREMACY at 7/2.

He was a Group 1-winning juvenile in 2020 and he has a few horses entered for the notable early entry two-year-old events.

COUNTRY ARTISTE (Clive Cox & Teme Valley Racing) has an entry for Super Sprint at Newbury and BERKSHIRE BOOM (Andrew Balding & Berkshire Parts) is entered for the Doncaster £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes. We’ll be keeping a close watch on his runners!
