Happy Friday! There is a monumental weekend of racing coming up meaning everyone needs to be looking at the race cards and betting markets with clear heads.

Easier said than done when you're celebrating winners.

Don't worry, we've got you.

Have you read recently about this new miracle, Limitless style pill that's supposed to help you feel fresh, even after the biggest sessions?

Yeh, I thought it was bullshit too. It's not. I've been on it for a few weeks now. Even roped some mates in as guinea pigs. This shit actually works.

Everyone reading this knows I'm partial to a night out (I did wine reviews ffs) so trust me when I say mornings feel different!

This is what I'm taking - try it yourselves and thank me later.

Anyway, let's dive in.

Headline Roundup

Saturday declarations

Wetherby hosts a monster card on Saturday and seven horses have been declared for its feature race, the Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase with the field headed by BGP Hall of Famer, BRAVEMANSGAME.

Owned by eccentric owner, John Dance, BMG reopposes his arch-rival, AHOY SENOR for the biggest clash of the season so far.

It is currently 2-1 to AHOY SENOR - who's your winner?

ELDORADO ALLEN, a horse who runs very well when fresh, and SECRET INVESTOR, a horse who hasn’t been seen on the track for 615 days, fill the next two places in the betting and Christian Williams’ WIN MY WINGS is beginning her season on Saturday, with the Grand National her ultimate aim.

Just the six are set to turn up for the Grade 2 Bet365 Hurdle 35 minutes before the Charlie Hall and SPORTING JOHN heads the early markets at 15/8, with INDEFATIGABLE, PROSCHEMA, THOMAS DARBY, OSCAR ELITE, and THREEUNDERTHRUFIVE, a horse who will remain a chaser this year after this season opener over hurdles, making up the rest of the field.

I had a text from a VERY good gambler yesterday, telling me to get on PROSCHEMA early (yes, it is the strangest ante-post tip I've ever had). I can't see it myself.

ScudaMORE wins

Worcester Racecourse was treated to a Tom Scudamore masterclass from start to finish as the 40-year-old completed a 549/1 three-timer.

The action began in the opening race of the day through Neil Mulholland’s MISS JEANNE MOON, a gritty winner of the 2m7f Novices’ Handicap Chase – that was her first win in 12 starts off a mark of 106.

Scudamore had to wait till the sixth race for his second win of the day as SIDI ISMAEL made use of the 11lb lower hurdle mark compared to his chase rating to claim success in the 2m7f handicap hurdle – this gave David Pipe his fifth winner from 18 runners.

And in the final race, the King George-winning jockey hosed up onboard Shaun Lycett’s BRANSON MISSOURI, a 22-length winner of the 2m4f handicap hurdle – that’s two successes on the bounce for the six-year-old mare.

Before we finish, we should mention the win of IDALKO BIHOUE in the 15.40 at Worcester yesterday.

Making his first start under rules for Nigel Twiston-Davies, this four-year-old bolted up by 14 lengths in yesterday’s 2m4f maiden on soft ground – a winner over three miles in a PtP in February this year, he is definitely a horse to keep on the right side of.

Uttoxeter bumper

A tricky bumper to work out on breeding, I've got it down to 4 in FINGLE BRIDGE, GO TO WAR, WEE TONY and UNWANTED ATTENTION.

MAJOR FORTUNE has been squeezed and has a ped suited to bumpers but he didn't run that well on debut in March and Lacey's yard form isn't exactly inspiring right now, so tentatively drawing a line through him.

Fergal's always run well in bumpers and their lad is the half bro to JP's FLIGHT DECK. JP actually owned a lot of them on the dam side but the only horse in the family to win a bumper was JP's NEW TIME (out of FLIGHT DECK's dam) and that was a low rpr.

FINGLE BRIDGE is the (current) fave but is being sold off a lot this morning, 9/4 out to 3's. This lad is a half brother to the highly rated 2m hurdler, CAMPEADOR - another owned by JP! Given he was so quick over 2miles, I wonder if he might get done on stamina today. That said, if he's anything like his half bro, he could be quite useful... and the word is he is! Olly Murphy's lot fancy both this chap and UKANTANGO today and they target this bumper, having won it last year and generally 5 from 11 in bumpers at this track.

The last in the shortlist is the biggest price, UNWANTED ATTENTION at 20's. He's by a good sire who produces top stayers (think WINGS OF EAGLES, SAM COOKE and COEUR DE LION). The red flag is his price tag - only 7k. Where normally I'd be happy to take a punt if the bumper was weak enough, this isn't, so despite thinking he's got a nice ped, I'm tentatively drawing a line through him on the basis that the market (both sales ring and betting) don't think he's any good.

Our view: Not really a betting race like we've seen in previous bumpers this week but I'll hang my hat on FINGLE BRIDGE 3/1 purely because I've heard he's a nice horse.
