Let’s go again, let’s dive in.
HEADLINE ROUNDUP
QUICKFIRE NEWS
We have two pieces of quickfire news to go through from yesterday before we get stuck into the previews, a more concise round up of the week will feature Monday.
The first comes from the Flat as AUGUSTE RODIN, as expected, will be retired to stud at the end of the season.
Auguste Rodin to Retire to Coolmore Stud
Coolmore is delighted to announce that 6-time Group 1 winner and dual Derby hero Auguste Rodin, will take up stud duties for the 2025 season at Coolmore’s base in Ireland. He will take his bow at the Japan Cup on November 24th following a… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Specifically, he will retire after the Japan Cup and he will stand in Ireland, which looks very sensible.
With his Japanese blood from his sire DEEP IMPACT, he can inject that into a few bloodlines over here, specifically the ones with NO NAY NEVER and DUBAWI (for Godolphin).
Despite his inconsistencies, he is still a Group 1 winner at 2,3 and 4 with the Derby, Irish Derby, Irish Champion, Breeders’ Cup Turf, Futurity, and Prince Of Wales’s on his CV.
He has been a great horse, so let’s hope he sends off his career well.
As for the other news, this circulates around the jumps as there were a few nice performances at Worcester yesterday.
The highlight came from POTTERS CHARM who is now unbeaten under rules having won on hurdles debut yesterday.
POTTERS CHARM wins hard held for the Twiston team and Sir Alex.
He was 10/11 last night lol.

We may be in September, but the Twiston-Davies’ are already talking about Grade 1s for him, which is BOLD.
🚨 Grade 1 targets for hurdling debut winner POTTERS CHARM, says Willy Twiston-Davies.
“We’ll look at Cheltenham at the end of October, but the long term target will be the Challow at Newbury.
“We’re hoping he’s one of our brighter lights of the year.

The Grade 1 Challow Novices’ Hurdle has been identified as a long-term target for the five-year-old and they’ll be hoping for a touch of soft ground around Christmastime.
His performance yesterday (demolishing an inadequate field) really got us excite to start punting good things in jumping novice events!
