We've played heavy on redemption bets before. The BUCCABAY and CLOCHETTE double was the last one.

A few of you guessed who it was, as I imagine just reading her name would have brought back some horrible memories of last Saturday (when she was tipped up as a strong gamble). Backed from 7's into 2's, she got lost on the ground and was looked after by her owner retained jockey, Tudhope.
Yesterday was supposed to be redemption for all those who know she's a weapon, redemption for all those who follow BGP gambles, redemption for the poor lad who gave her to us in the first place...
...the only problem was, she was drawn in the car park. Pro's say stall 11 at Wolves is as good as a 10lbs penalty, jockeys say it's worse.
In my mind, there was a strong possibility that Tudhope would have been given orders for a quiet ride. The drift stank too and there was word floating around that Varian's liked thiers.
It turns out, Tudhope did go for it and to be fair to him, he gave her a fucking peach of a ride. She broke so well and they went straight to the front, very rare. I thought she was home and hosed, but Varian's just got up when FERENSBY idled in front, to win the photo. Another tough watch but at least we've seen a glimpse of her ability.
One to follow. Now, lets dive in.
Headline Roundup
Multi-million dollar leg
Following his recent retirement from the track, a 2.5% share in the Breeders’ Cup Classic winner FLIGHTLINE was sold for an eye-watering $4.6 million at the Keeneland sales yesterday.

Fred Seitz of Brookdale Farm in Versailles, Kentucky, completed the purchase on behalf of an undisclosed buyer - applying some quick maths, this would make FLIGHTLINE’s projected worth at $184 million.
I imagine the decision to retire him was quite easy for the owners.

In what was a sale that took place in person, over the phone, online, and in a Metaverse-type experience (for the very first time) the bidding began at $500,000 and increased in $100,000 increments.
HAVANA GREY stud fee
This year’s Champion first-season sire elect, HAVANA GREY, will see his stud fee treble for the upcoming covering season.

The likes of EDDIE’S BOY, RUMSTAR and MAYLANDSEA have hit the ground running for the seven-year-old this season.
And lets not forget about the absolutely rocket, MAMMAS GIRL we gambled last month
HG currently stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud, and it will now cost £18,500 to use his services going forward, a jump of £12,500 from his original stud fee. Thats good fucking business.
Big win for Jonathan Portman!

Stud director Ed Harper said: “After such a phenomenal year it's taken a lot of thought as we're trying to keep him within reach of the breeders that have supported him thus far - it’s already clear that demand will far outweigh supply, and I just hope people understand the difficult decisions we're going to have to make.”

Having fallen at the second-last when looking in contention in last year’s renewal, Festival winner COOLE CODY, a horse who ran at every possible Cheltenham meeting last season, is priced at 12/1 - owner Wayne Clifford admitted his handicap mark is currently too big and he may be lined up for a race later down the line.

The biggest antepost gamble of the weekend comes in Sunday’s Greatwood Hurdle as Emmet Mullins’ THOUSAND TEARS has been smashed into 4/1 from 12s - the seven-year-old has been winless in 10 runs but is nine pounds higher than his last winning mark.

Waiting to see if there’s more rain coming for Lingfield as I’d like to see chase course softer.
17.30 JUMBEAU
Best horse in the race, good draw and has been running well in much deeper company. Back on a sound surface after her last run she’s going to be hard to beat.
