Equinties - not guilty!?

Equinties

Gm Equinauts

You only have to step foot outside to understand why the racing had to be canned today, the ground is as rock solid as Luke Littler’s nerves were in yesterdays final.

A big shout out to Luke Littler who made MvG genuinely look like a wild card entrant in his first championship match last night - and that isn’t by no means a dig at the legend himself, who has ruled the sport for so many years, it’s more a testament to how bloody brilliant Luke The Nuke is playing right now.

But anyway, back to horse racing. Today see’s only two meetings in the UK on - both all-weather at Wolves and Southwell.

If you’re betting, be careful because Jim Crowley once said most race results on the all-weather are known before the off! That said, there are one or two we like and might have a small interest in.

We’re really hoping the ground thaws out by tomorrow so we can get the jumps back underway and more, have a good bit of heavy ground time which we’ve missed for so long now in what’s been a prolonged spell of unseasonal spring-like ground.

Let’s dive in.

HEADINE ROUND UP

JOHN DANCE

The John Dance case isn’t just the biggest scandal the BHA have ever seen, try the FCA too. That’s going some!

"This is one of the most serious and largest frauds we have ever investigated," FCA said in a statement

The latest instalment of the John Dance saga hit the news yesterday, his plea and it might shock some of you…

In this case, his ‘not guilty’ plea will surely promote some drama going forward because surely most people expected the other plea - guilty, right!?

Let’s be honest if you’re one of the few in life fortunate enough to be in a position where you require the expertise of a wealth manager, the chances are you’re probably not going to use a wealth manager who’s driving round in supers cars, keeps 50 horses training, buys yards to buy more horses, pays half of Middleham to look after his horses, rents blades to Newbury and DJ’s in their own night clubs in Newcastle.

Something stinks and that’s why we are GOBSMACKED he’s plead not guilty.

There is a reason for it though.

Friday was his first appearance in court since he was charged with fraud claims accounting to £64 million, and he plead not guilty to all the charges.

Josh Hart, of the North Tyneside Magistrates Court, said: “The issue of the trial will be whether the defendant’s conduct was dishonest. He denies any allegation of dishonesty.”

We’re unsure quite what this means but we’d guess Dance’s lawyers are perhaps suggesting clients gave Dance authority to act and therefore he could do with the funds as he wished. that’s a guess on our behalf which doesn’t really have much legs owed to the FCA rules around how client funds should be held.

It’s all rather confusing! We can’t wait for the next episode.
