6 UK and Irish race meetings, England face the West Indies in the cricket, the All Blacks will be dancing the haka at Twickenham and then CITY OF TROY runs in the big one at Del Mar tonight.
The All Blacks will be looking to make a BIG statement after this tweet last week:
The Haka needs binning. It’s ridiculous.

THIS IS WHAT SATURDAYS ARE MADE FOR.
Let’s dive in.
HEADLINE ROUNDUP
THE BRIGHTEST
BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD got the job done yesterday. Racing Twitter was full of praise for her performance in the Bottlegreen Hurdle – a few of the tweets would have naturally been pre-written – but what do we think of the performance?
Let’s start with her jumping.
Returning to action in style 🤩
A 1-2 for @gelliott_racing in the Grade 3 Bottlegreen Hurdle @Downroyal as Brighterdaysahead prevails over stablemate King Of Kingsfield with Sam Ewing in the saddle 🔴⚪️

If you watch the replay from the second last onwards, you’d be forgiven for thinking she is a poor jumper, but that isn’t necessarily the case.
As we said when talking about the decision to keep her to hurdles last week, she is a natural jumper of a hurdle, and yesterday displayed that.
Brighterdaysahead is some jumper of a hurdle, isn't she?
I know there was plenty of chat for her to go over a fence this year, but she jumped a lot of those hurdles before the home straight so well.
She showed it at Aintree as well, and she backed that up today.

Go watch the whole replay back and you’ll see what we mean. She takes those flights as if she is just striding over them, whereas KING OF KINGSFIELD (who will go novice chasing) and DADDY LONG LEGS had to be stoked into a few of them.
She’s a sexy jumper until she’s not, which was demonstrated at the last.
As for her engine, it’s certainly there.
She made all against a race-fit rival over probably an inferior distance, and she maintained her gallop even when Sam Ewing got low in the saddle earlier than a few of her opponents.
She’ll come on for the run massively and will probably prefer a pace to aim at rather than making all. So, in this circumstance, we do agree with Racing X.
However, quotes for the Champion Hurdle? No.
🗣️ "She's got a lot of class."
Could Brighterdaysahead line up in the Champion Hurdle? 🏆
@gelliott_racing suggests the race as a possible target for his star mare following her victory in the Grade 3 Bottlegreen Hurdle 👀

She was beaten at Cheltenham because it turned into a sprint, and surely Gordo will send her to the Mares if LOSSIEMOUTH goes to the Champion?
Anyway, nice performance.
